Free Trial Classes For Kids In Singapore (2026)

Eighteen of the best-known enrichment brands in Singapore advertise a trial. Not one of them publishes how long it lasts. Heguru, Shichida, Kumon, MindChamps, Julia Gabriel, British Council: every one will take your booking, and none will tell you whether you are giving up thirty minutes of a Saturday or two hours of it.

That matters more than the price. A thirty-minute taster and a ninety-minute class tell you completely different things about whether your four-year-old will settle. Thirty minutes is long enough to meet a teacher and not much else. Ninety minutes is a real lesson, and a child who is still engaged at the end of it has told you something worth knowing.

So this guide leads with duration, then the age range, then the conditions attached. Everything below was read on the provider’s own website or booking system in September 2026. Nothing is taken from a directory, and no provider paid to be here.

Free Trial Classes In Singapore, Verified

Thirty providers offer a trial at no charge. The column that matters is the third one, and it is mostly empty, because most operators do not publish it.

How Long A Free Trial Actually Runs

Twelve of the thirty publish a duration. That is the whole list: Speech Academy Asia, Futurum and JSSL’s Next Gen sessions at 90 minutes, VivoKicks at 60 to 90, Tree Art, Artistori and ACT 3 at 60, Minisport at 50, VivoKids at 45 to 50, and Cristofori, Aureus and Evolve MMA at 30.

The spread is three to one. Ninety minutes at Speech Academy Asia is a full lesson and a fair test of whether a child enjoys it. Thirty minutes of drums at Aureus is an introduction to a teacher. Both are advertised with the same word.

When Free Is Not Free

A free trial is not the same as a free start. Several providers give the class away and charge for everything around it.

A Free Assessment Is Not A Free Trial

This is the distinction that catches most parents, and several centres blur it on purpose. An assessment is a meeting about your child. A trial is a class with other children in it.

I Can Read offers a free literacy assessment, and says so plainly rather than calling it a class. MindChamps Reading does the same. Heguru Education runs a parent session of 30 to 45 minutes, and Shichida runs a one-hour parent session. Kumon advertised two free trial classes, but that campaign ended on 30 June 2026, according to Kumon’s own campaign address.

CMA Mental Arithmetic settles the argument on its own booking form, and deserves credit for it. The form offers a Free Preview of 15 minutes at $0.00 directly beside a Trial Class of 90 minutes at $42.00, across 17 branches. Two different things, named differently, priced differently, on one screen. Every centre could do this and almost none does.

Coding Lab is the opposite case. It offers no trial at all: the free thing is a placement test that its own site says takes 30 minutes to an hour, and the class-like thing is a paid $65 workshop that its FAQ describes as being just like a trial. Nullspace charges $55 to $110 for its trial, and its "trial promo" is a pair of $50 discount codes rather than a free class.

Two brands deserve credit for refusing to blur it. Heguru Method and Shichida both state outright that they do not offer trial classes, which is more useful to a parent than a form that leads to a phone call. Cheng Ballet splits the difference honestly: a free trial class for ages 3 to 6, and a placement assessment for older children, with each one named for what it is.

What The Big Brands Actually Offer

The brands parents search for by name are the weakest performers in this guide. Of eighteen checked, three offer a trial you can book yourself and attend for nothing, two charge, five offer an assessment rather than a class, and none publishes a duration.

Only four of the eighteen let a parent complete a booking without speaking to anyone. Ten are enquiry forms that route to a sales call, including Chengzhu’s $18 trial page, which takes no payment and confirms no slot.

Julia Gabriel Centre is the sharpest example. Its free trial was attached to an Open House on 27 and 28 June 2026, and its standing trial page now reads that bookings are closed. The live offer is a paid $18 trial, waived if you enrol, exactly like its sister brand Chengzhu. Both are still advertised as free trials on directory sites that have not checked.

Trials For Babies And Toddlers

Under-threes are the busiest end of this market and the hardest to shop for, because the minimum age is usually given in months and rarely on the page you land on.

Fifteen providers take babies under six months. Little Splashes starts at 3 months with a $45 trial, Happy Fish at 4 months with a $50 trial, and aquaDucks at 4 months with a $43.60 trial that runs 30 minutes, of which 20 are in the water. The Music Scientist takes 4-month-olds at $45 for 45 minutes, the same length as its regular session. Lucy Sparkles and Kindermusik With Love both take newborns.

Two things to expect at this age. An adult stays in the room, universally, with drop-off starting somewhere around 17 to 18 months. And siblings are usually unwelcome: almost nobody publishes a policy, and the two that do, Kindermusik and VOCA, both say no.

What A Paid Trial Costs

A paid trial is often the better buy, particularly when the fee comes back to you. First Kick charges $15 and credits it against your first term. Chengzhu and Julia Gabriel charge $18 and waive it on enrolment. Ready Steady Go Kids and Kickmatics charge $20, and Kickmatics refunds it if you sign up on the spot.

Gymnastics is the category with no free option at all. Every operator we could read charges, from $50 for an hour at Karpenko, through $63 at The Yard and $65 at Bianka Panova and Gymnastics Education, up to $110 for a competitive trial. Swimming is the same story for a simpler reason: a pool, an instructor and a ratio of two or three children cost money whoever turns up.

Booking A Trial Without Getting Locked In

Ask how long it runs. Eighteen of thirty do not publish it. Ask whether it is a class or an assessment, because the second is a meeting about your child rather than a lesson with other children. Ask what registration costs, since a free trial at Tree Art still leads to $80 and at VivoKicks to $65. Check the branch, because ACT 3 gives its trial away at Kovan and charges $40 for the same thing at Cairnhill. And check whether the offer depends on signing up that day, which is how Kindermusik and Kickmatics structure theirs.

What We Could Not Verify

Four operators blocked us outright, so nothing about their trials appears above: British Council, whose own free trial page would not load on any path we tried, Yamaha’s education site, BrainFit, and Kumon’s promotion pages. All four are live for a person with a browser. We do not publish what we cannot read.

A surprising amount of this sector has simply rotted. ESPZEN’s domain is now parked for sale. Impact MMA serves an empty directory listing. Tumble Tots, Splash Gymnastics, Flip Academy, SuperSpeeds and Fightersinc do not resolve at all. Little Kickers Singapore now serves the global site and its class finder returns no Singapore venues. One music retailer’s Singapore domain now presents a certificate for unrelated parked sites, so we have not linked it.

Three expired offers are still circulating on other sites and should be ignored: an aquaDucks $20 trial that closed on 16 January 2024, a Sparkanauts free trial that ended on 30 September 2025, and Kumon’s two free classes, which ended on 30 June 2026.
