What Swimming Lessons Cost in Singapore (2026): 22 Schools Compared

12 October 2026 · 14 min read

TL;DR – The Quick Version

Forty weekly group lessons cost about $1,000 at a public pool with Swim Masters, Fun Splash or Smileswimmers, $1,550 to $1,930 at a school with its own heated pool, and $2,800 to $6,540 one to one. We checked the 28 swim schools listed on Jungle on 12 October 2026: 22 publish a fee clear enough to price a lesson, three publish part of one and three publish nothing current. Pool entry starts at 50 cents for a citizen child, and each SwimSafer test is $50. Browse swimming lessons on Jungle.

A 45-minute group swimming lesson at Senja-Cashew Swimming Complex costs $25 with Swim Masters. A 30-minute weekend lesson in Little Splashes' heated indoor pools costs $63.20 on a term package. Both teach a child to swim. The cheaper lesson is 15 minutes longer and costs less than half as much.

That is the shape of swimming prices in Singapore in 2026. The price follows the pool, the size of the group and the day of the week far more than it follows the teaching. A heated indoor pool, a class of four and a Saturday morning each add to the bill.

We checked the 28 swim schools listed on Jungle against their own websites on 12 October 2026. Twenty-two publish a fee clear enough to price a lesson for a child aged 4 to 12. Three publish part of one, and three publish nothing current. Every figure below comes from the school's own fee page, or from ActiveSG for pool entry and SwimSafer.

If you are planning a January start, this is what to budget and what to ask before you pay. For babies and toddlers, read our guide to swimming lessons for ages 0 to 3.

Swimming Lesson Prices at a Glance

What one lesson costs, by format, at the schools that publish fees. Where a school sells packs or terms, the per-lesson figure is the pack price divided by the lessons it states.

FormatPer lessonWhat it buys
Group, public pool$22.50 to $37.5045 to 60 minutes, up to 8 to 10 children, entry extra
Group, heated pool$37.25 to $70.8530 to 45 minutes, 4 to 8 children
Small group, 2 to 4$30 to $102.19 a childyour own coach, shared
Private$70 to $163.50one child, one coach
At your condo$31.88 to $120group of four to private
Baby or toddler$25 to $70.85mostly 30 minutes, parent in the water
SwimSafer test$50 a stagetest and theory quiz
ActiveSG entry$0.50 to $1citizen or PR child

Three things stand out. Group classes at a public pool give the most minutes for the money. One-to-one lessons cost one and a half to four times a group lesson at the same school. And the small extras, entry and the SwimSafer test, are a rounding error next to the lessons themselves.

Forty Lessons, Priced

A per-lesson price hides registration fees and term structures, so here is one yardstick: 40 weekly lessons, roughly a school year with the holidays off. One-time fees are included. Weekday prices unless stated.

Route40 lessonsHow it is built
Swim Masters, public pool$1,000$25 a lesson, plus $20 entry
Fun Splash, public pool$1,00060 minutes each; $900 with a Passion Card
Smileswimmers, public pool$1,040$250 for 10, plus $40 to join
The Swim Starter, public pool$1,200 to $1,5008-week terms; make-ups only on Gold
State Swim, heated pool$1,550.80from $38.77 a lesson, monthly
Happy Fish, heated pool$1,591.40four packs of 10
aquaDucks, heated pool$1,602.40$40.06 a lesson
Little Splashes, heated poolabout $1,711terms of 12, plus $54.50 to join
Swish, heated pool$1,744$40 plus GST
Marsden, heated pool$1,842.10$44.69, plus $54.50 to join
OtterSwim, heated pool$1,930four terms, plus $50 to join
Swim Hub, one to one at home$2,800$70 a lesson
Happy Fish HOME, weekends$2,834$70.85 a lesson
Happy Fish HOME, one to one$6,540$163.50 a lesson

The spread is about six and a half to one. The $1,000 that buys a year of public-pool group lessons buys six one-to-one lessons at Happy Fish's HOME pools. Weekend lessons move every heated-pool row up: at Little Splashes, 40 weekend lessons come to about $2,583 with registration.

What the Schools Publish

These are the schools with the clearest published prices for children aged 4 to 12, grouped by where the lessons happen. Each card gives the price as the school prints it and what that price buys.

Other schools on Jungle

Three more schools publish a usable fee:

  • Red Dot Penguins charges S$150 plus GST for four weeks of weekly 45-minute Learn to Swim classes, from 2.5, plus S$80 registration before GST. The first lesson is free. Pools: ACS Barker Road, Siglap, YMCA One Orchard and SJI International.
  • The Swimming Place charges from $90 a lesson one to one at Bukit Batok, Jurong West, Choa Chu Kang and Senja-Cashew. Its group classes are "from $100", without saying what period that covers.
  • SwimShark charges $40 a class, by the term, at condo pools, and now lists only Dakota.

Three publish part of a fee:

  • Swimfast runs 55-minute Learn-to-Swim classes of up to six at MGS and ACS from $200 a month, without a lesson count. A trial lesson is $50.
  • Swimmerse prices private coaching at $240 to $450 a month but not its children's group classes, which also need a one-month deposit and a uniform.
  • Little Fishes lists kids' groups as "1 term = 12 lessons" and "$120 per month", and prints two different private rates in the same table.

Three publish nothing current. SG Sink Or Swim School does not publish its fees online. Contact them for current prices. Penguin Swim School's website address now shows a domain-for-sale page. SwimSG's fee page carries no date, so we left its figures out.

What Public Pool Entry Costs

Swim schools that teach at ActiveSG pools charge for the lesson, not the pool, so you pay entry at the gate. It is small. These are ActiveSG's published rates, GST included.

Pool and personWeekdayWeekend
Normal pool, child$0.50$0.60
Normal pool, adult$1.00$1.30
Feature pool, child$0.80$1.00
Feature pool, adult$1.50$2.00

Those are citizen and permanent resident rates; a child is anyone under 18. Everyone else pays the standard rate, $1.30 on weekdays and $1.70 at weekends at a normal pool, or $2.00 and $2.60 at a feature pool, adult or child. The feature pools are Choa Chu Kang, Jurong East, Jurong West, Pasir Ris, Sengkang, Heartbeat@Bedok, Our Tampines Hub and WCH Arena.

Forty weekday lessons at a normal pool add $20 in entry for a citizen child. A MyActiveSWIM pass, unlimited entry for ActiveSG members, is $5 a month for a child aged 1 to 17. For lessons alone, paying at the gate costs less; the pass pays off only if your child also swims for fun most weeks.

What a SwimSafer Test Costs

SwimSafer 2.0 is Singapore's national water-safety programme: six stages, each about 12 hours of lessons, from water confidence at Stage 1 to 400 metres of timed strokes at Stage 6, Gold. Primary school pupils can take it through their school, or privately with an accredited instructor.

Private tests now run centrally, through Singapore Aquatics' booking system, at five ActiveSG pools. The SwimSafer assessment handbook sets the fee at $50 a participant for each stage, covering the practical test and the online theory quiz. An older FAQ on the ActiveSG page still mentions $10 a participant from a 2025 pilot, so check the amount when you book.

Four rules cost parents money:

  • No refunds once you register. You can move the date up to three weeks before the test, not after.
  • Sickness is covered. Upload a medical certificate and you rebook free.
  • The theory quiz has a deadline. A one-month extension costs $5; miss it and the practical result is forfeited.
  • Your coach must confirm the stage. Once paid and confirmed, the stage cannot be changed.

Six stages at $50 is $300 if your child passes each one first time. Schools may add their own charges: Fun Splash says additional fees apply for the assessment, and Swimmerse sends families a separate invitation with payment details. MOE pupils who do not pass Stage 1 at school are offered a fully funded remediation programme of three lessons and a test.

Baby and Toddler Classes

Most schools with their own heated pools charge one rate from babies to 12-year-olds: aquaDucks, Happy Fish, Little Splashes, Marsden, OtterSwim, Swish and Inspire all do. A baby class is usually 30 minutes with a parent in the water, so the same fee buys less pool time than a 45-minute children's class.

Two schools run it the other way round. Smileswimmers charges $36 for a 30-minute baby lesson and $25 for a 45-minute children's lesson. Friendly Dolphin's one-to-one toddler lessons are $400 for four 30-minute lessons, while children over 5 pay $360 for four of 45 to 60 minutes. Our baby and toddler swimming guide covers all 18 schools for ages 0 to 3.

What Pushes the Price Up

Five things move a swimming lesson's price, in roughly this order.

The pool. The pool makes the biggest difference. Group lessons at schools with their own heated pools start at $37.25 for 30 minutes; group lessons at public pools start at $22.50 for 60. Per minute, Marsden's $1.49 is more than three times Fun Splash's 42 cents. What it buys: warm water, usually a roof, and fewer lightning cancellations.

The ratio. Fewer children per coach costs more. State Swim's Glides class has four, Marsden five, Little Splashes five, and Inspire four for kids. Public-pool groups run to eight or ten. One to one is the far end: at Happy Fish, a child alone pays $109 a lesson, while four children sharing a coach pay $37.47 each.

The day. Weekends cost more at every heated-pool school that prices them separately. The premium runs from 7% at Marsden to 13% at Inspire, 15% at Swish, 17% at OtterSwim, 29% to 39% at aquaDucks, 37% at Happy Fish and 53% at Little Splashes. Weekday slots are where the savings are.

The place. Happy Fish's HOME pools at Bedok and Stevens cost 23% more than its other pools on weekdays. Isplash adds $10 a child to a private package at The Chevrons, where entry is included. Swim Hub says its rates depend on the location as well as the coach.

The coach. Sttitude's private lessons cost 41% more with its head coach than with a junior coach. A female coach adds $10 a lesson at Swim Monkey and Swim Hub, $30 a month at Isplash, $40 a month at Singapore Swimming Academy and $40 a month at Friendly Dolphin for a private child.

What Catches Parents Out

  1. A fee with no lesson count is not a price. Singapore Swimming Academy's "from $120 per month", Swimfast's "from $200/month" and Isplash's "up to four lessons" all need one question: how many lessons, guaranteed?
  2. Make-ups are worth money, and some plans have none. The Swim Starter charges $60 more a term for them. OtterSwim's monthly plan and Smileswimmers have none; Happy Fish and State Swim give a make-up for every lesson you cancel in time.
  3. Joining fees. Smileswimmers $40, OtterSwim $50, Little Splashes and Marsden $54.50, Inspire $55, Red Dot Penguins $80 before GST. Isplash and Singapore Swimming Academy say registration is free.
  4. GST is handled differently. Swish and Red Dot Penguins quote before GST. Happy Fish, aquaDucks, Little Splashes, Marsden, State Swim and Fun Splash include it. Most of the rest do not say.
  5. Notice periods and deposits. Smileswimmers needs a month's notice and refunds nothing. Swimmerse holds a month's fees as a deposit, refundable only after six months.

How to Choose

Start with your child, not the price list.

  • Nervous, or under 6: a warm pool and a class of four or five is worth paying for, at least for the first term or two. Ask for the trial first: Happy Fish, aquaDucks, Little Splashes and Inspire publish trial prices from $43.60 to $65.
  • Confident and 6 or older: a public-pool group class of 45 to 60 minutes is the best value per minute, from $25 a lesson.
  • Siblings or friends: a coach at your condo, shared by three or four children, costs about the same as a heated-pool group class, at $30 to $52.50 each.
  • Working towards SwimSafer: check the school enters children for the central tests, and budget $50 a stage.

Before you pay, ask three questions and get the answers in writing. How many lessons does this fee cover? How long is each lesson, and how many children share the coach? What is payable on top: registration, GST, pool entry, uniform or test fees?

How We Checked These

We started from every swim school listed on Jungle, 28 schools under 32 names, leaving out public pools and clubs, which are venues rather than lesson providers. Each school was checked on its own website or fee sheet on 12 October 2026, and prices are as published that day. Pool entry and SwimSafer fees come from ActiveSG and Singapore Aquatics. Per-lesson figures divide a published pack only where the school states the number of lessons.
