Most ballet schools in Singapore say they teach from age 3. What a 3-year-old actually gets varies far more than that label suggests. At Tanglin Arts Studio it is 30 minutes of ballet-based movement and pretend play. At Ballet Quarter it is 45 minutes of music and movement as groundwork for ballet. At Charlotte Marn School of Dance it is an hour of ballet, jazz and beginner acrobatics, from three and a half.
Some schools want you in the room. M.A Ballet does not allow parents in the studio at all.
This guide covers the 21 schools on Jungle that run a ballet class for children aged 2, 3 or 4. We checked each one on its own website, timetable or fee sheet on 6 October 2026. Every card below says what a child of this age is taught, for how long, whether a parent stays, and what it costs where the school publishes it. Most schools do not publish fees, and the cards say so.
Start with the summary of what changes between 2, 3 and 4, then the three quick picks. After that every school is grouped by area, with the chains that have several branches at the end.

At 2, you are usually in the class too. All That Jazz, Le Grand, Danspirations, Ritz and Dance At The Difference all run a class where a parent or helper dances alongside. It is songs, props and copying the teacher rather than steps. The Ballet School and Swan Ballet Academy start toddler ballet at two and a half, and neither says whether parents stay.
At 3, most schools expect you to leave. Amy's, Ballet Quarter, Crestar, Ritz and M.A Ballet say so plainly. Classes run 30 to 60 minutes and are built on a story. Crestar plans each term around a fairytale, Danspirations has children float like jellyfish while practising pliés, and All That Jazz gives every class characters and small missions. Several schools mix ballet with jazz at this age, and the cards say which.
At 4, some schools start the exam syllabus. Yan, M.A Ballet, The Dance Place, Swan and Le Grand begin Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Pre-Primary at 4. Singapore Ballet Academy's youngest class is a 60-minute Pre-Primary class for 4-year-olds, with a placement assessment instead of a trial. Others keep 4-year-olds in a creative class for another year.
If one of the three is not there yet, a trial class will tell you more than any checklist. Four schools here run free trials: City Ballet Academy, Le Grand, The Dance Place and, for a limited time, Cheng Ballet Academy.

All That Jazz Dance Academy. Photo: Jungle
Family Fun Ballet & Jazz is a 45-minute class for ages 2 to 3 where a parent joins in. Each lesson has a theme, characters and small missions, so toddlers learn steps by acting them out to music. It runs eight times a week across Forum on Orchard Road and i12 Katong, the most published slots of any parent-and-child class here. At 3 it leads into Twinkle Tots, a 60-minute drop-off class.
Price: The booking system lists $52 for this class without saying how many lessons that covers. Contact them to confirm. Trials are non-refundable.

City Ballet has the lowest first-term cost of the schools that publish fees: $330 for ten 45-minute classes, with a free trial for new students and no registration fee listed. Yan is $3 a class cheaper but adds a $60 registration fee and a paid trial. Creative Movement mixes first ballet steps with imaginative play, 30 metres from Dhoby Ghaut MRT. The catch is size: classes take up to 18 children.
Price: $330 for a 10-lesson term ($33 a class). Free trial for new students.

The fees are from Term 2 2026, the latest the school has put online, so confirm them before you enrol.
Price: $330 to $340 for an 11-lesson term (about $30 a class, GST included). $60 registration per family and a $200 refundable deposit. Trial $30.

Between 5 and 6, most schools here move children onto an exam syllabus. RAD Pre-Primary and then Primary is the common route, at Ballet Quarter, City Ballet, Dancepointe, The Ballet School, Swan, Elevate, Yan and M.A Ballet. Some make exams compulsory: Elevate at every level, Charlotte Marn from 6, and Amy's from Preschool 3 Ballet at 6.
If you want ballet as a hobby without exams, ask before you enrol. Danspirations says its exams are optional, and All That Jazz says the same for recreational students. Exam classes also tend to mean a second class a week: Ballet Quarter, Cheng and Yan all ask for two once exams start.
Every school here is listed on Jungle. We checked each school Jungle lists for ballet at these ages on its own website, timetable or fee sheet, and kept the 21 that run a ballet class for children aged 2, 3 or 4 and are still trading.
Where a class mixes ballet with jazz or acrobatics, the card says so. The quick picks are our judgement: the parent-and-child class with the most published slots, the lowest first-term cost, and the clearest route into RAD exams. Fees, trials and timetables were read on 6 October 2026.
