Best Arts & Crafts Classes for Kids in Singapore

TL;DR – The Quick Version

We checked every art studio Jungle lists on its own website on 4 November 2026, and 32 run a regular class for children aged 2.5 to 12. Two have a class with a parent before 3, and seven take children from 2.5. Classes run 60 to 90 minutes at 3 and up to two hours once portfolio work starts at 9 or 10. Fifteen publish a price a class, from $32 to $65, and four give a free trial. Browse art classes on Jungle.

An art class for a child in Singapore can mean an hour of painting with one teacher to two children, or a two-hour drawing lesson built towards a DSA portfolio. The 32 studios in this guide cover both, and age decides most of the difference: classes run 60 to 90 minutes at 3, mostly 90 minutes by 7, and two hours once portfolio work starts at 9 or 10.

This guide covers every art studio Jungle lists that runs a regular class for children between 2.5 and 12: 32 studios at 79 branches. We read each studio's own website, booking system and fee sheets on 4 November 2026. Each card gives the classes by age, what children make in them, the trial and any published fee. Fifteen publish a price a class; most of the rest send you to WhatsApp or a form.

Start with what a class looks like at each age and the kinds of class on offer, then the readiness checklist and three quick picks. Every studio follows by area, chains at the end, then one-off workshops, a fees summary and a summary table. For under-5s in more detail, see our guide to art classes for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.

Before 3, a parent joins or the class waits until 2.5. Abrakadoodle's Twoosy Doodlers, for 18 months to 3, and Chalk N Pencils' Tots N Fam, for 2 to 3 at its New Bahru studio, have a parent alongside. Seven studios take children from 2.5: Art Grain (Seedling, 90 minutes), Art Wonderland (WonderTodds, 75), White Canvas (Discoverer, 75), Da Little and De Mini (an hour each), Little Artists (one or two hours) and Let Colour Soar.

At 3 and 4, a class is mostly about handling materials. Chalk N Pencils' Chalk I is an hour of cutting, tearing, threading, moulding and pasting, with painting and printmaking. Global Art's Junior teaches colouring with gel pastels through games and stories, and The Art People's toddler course spends 24 of its 48 lessons on colouring for grip. First classes run an hour at My Art Pencil, 75 minutes at ARTARY and 90 at Art Grain and Artsy Bugsy.

At 5 and 6, classes lengthen and drawing skills begin. Chalk II runs 75 minutes on drawing, sketching and colour, and ARTARY's Fine Art 2 moves to 90 minutes from 5.5. Art Grain's Headstart works on brush handling and colour mixing, Global Art's Foundation on blending and toning in oil pastel, and ArtzGraine's Flint Corn adds digital animation.

From 7, children draw from life and choose a medium. Chalk III is 90 minutes of observational drawing and painting, and My Art Pencil's Junior Art covers proportion, colour theory, light and shadow. The menu widens: manga at Studio Miu and White Canvas, ceramics at Studio Miu, digital art on iPads at Art Grain, Chinese ink at Joyme Art. Artsy Bugsy and Artistori move to two-hour classes at 7 and 8.

From 10, portfolio work starts. Global Art's Intermediate level turns to faces and figures, and ARTARY's Fine Art 4 to paintings after famous works. Portfolio and DSA classes begin at 9 at Joyme Art and White Canvas, and at 10 at ArtzGraine, Art Grain, Arterly Obsessed, Achievers Arts, Artlette, Art Wonderland and Da Little.

Which kind of art class suits my child?

Most studios mix several of these, but each leans one way. Ask which it is before the trial.

  • Process and creative art puts exploring materials ahead of a tidy finished piece. Abrakadoodle calls its projects process art, Art Grain's Creative Programme (5 to 10) is open-ended, and Little Artists' Little Blossoms and Tree Art's Creative Art move through clay, printmaking and collage. It suits a young child or a first class.
  • Drawing and fine art builds skills in order: line, shape, shading, perspective. Global Art runs a graded syllabus with workbooks, Chalk N Pencils moves to observational drawing at 7 and My Art Pencil to proportion and shading, and Art Grain's Fundamental Drawing runs from 5 to 12. Visual Arts Centre sells children's courses by medium, from sketching to Chinese ink.
  • Mixed media and craft means making objects as much as pictures. Pei-Per builds crafts from recycled materials, taught mostly in Mandarin, Da Little adds weaving and papier mache, and each Artventurer term at Achievers Arts includes a craft or mixed media piece.
  • Digital art uses iPads and Procreate. Art Grain's Digital Art (7 to 16) provides the iPads; ARTARY's Digital Art starts at 9, and Artlette's Procreate class from 9 asks you to bring your own iPad and pencil.
  • Clay is a class of its own at Art Grain (Clay Art, 5 to 16) and Studio Miu (Children Ceramics, 7 to 12, hand-building and glazing), and part of the mix at Global Art, Chalk N Pencils and Tree Art. A separate guide to pottery classes for children is coming soon.
  • Portfolio and DSA preparation builds a body of work for school applications, with interview practice. Art Grain, The Art People, WE ART, Let Colour Soar, Tree Art and Artlette all run one; see the next section.
  • Therapeutic art at stART Studio uses guided painting with a focus on confidence, and ends with a short talk with parents.

When should a child start portfolio or DSA art?

Through Direct School Admission, Primary 6 pupils can apply to some secondary schools on a talent, visual art among them, before the PSLE. The 2026 applications ran from 6 May to 2 June, and a pupil admitted this way cannot change school after the results, according to MOE's DSA page. Dates for 2027 are not yet published.

Studios start portfolio work between 9 and 11. Art Grain's Portfolio Preparatory Course takes 10 to 12 year olds for two and a half years, at least four hours a week. WE ART's DSA class is for Primary 5 and 6, and The Art People's DSA60 is 60 two-hour lessons. The Art People is also the plainest about the outcome: its FAQ asks whether DSA60 guarantees admission and answers "No".

Studios pitch these courses at children who already draw well: Chalk N Pencils points children "with strong artistic talent" to its DSA programme, and The Art People's Sketch Level 3 leads into DSA60. Success rates on studio websites, such as Tree Art's 96.3% and Let Colour Soar's 23 offers in 2025, are the studios' own figures. For children finishing Primary 6 now, our guide to what to do after PSLE covers camps and courses for 12 year olds.

Is your child ready for an art class?

  • They can stay with one activity for an hour. First classes run 60 minutes at My Art Pencil, Da Little and Chalk N Pencils, but 90 at Art Grain and Artsy Bugsy. If not yet, start with a parent-and-child class at Abrakadoodle.
  • They are happy to be left. Most classes from 3 are drop-off, including Tree Art, ARTARY and Chalk N Pencils, and Artify keeps parents out even at the trial. My Art Pencil lets a parent sit in at a 3 or 4-year-old's first class.
  • They want to make something, not only to play. ARTARY asks that children sit through the class on their own, and Artlette's Explorer I aims to finish one artwork a session. A child who would rather explore may be happier in a process-led class.

A trial tells you more than any checklist. Tree Art, Little Artists, Let Colour Soar and Artsy Bugsy give one free, and published prices elsewhere run from $10 at Artistori to $90 for two lessons at Pei-Per and Da Little. Our guide to free trial classes for kids covers other activities too.

One-off workshops and art jamming

Some studios on Jungle sell single sessions rather than weekly classes. They suit a birthday or a holiday afternoon more than a child who wants to build skills.

  • CocoArt at The Cathay: Kids Painting, guided on canvas or a tote bag, $58 for 90 minutes from 5, and Kids Pottery hand-building, $68 for 75 minutes.
  • Art Pop Studio in Ubi: balloon splatter painting, $118 for a parent and a child aged 3 to 6 sharing a canvas, or $85 each from 7, at least two people a booking.
  • Wildflower Studio, now at Enabling Village in Redhill: art jamming among rescue cats, from 5 with a paying adult, $48 each for a semi-guided 2.5-hour session.
  • Avant-Garde Art Space on Jalan Pemimpin: guided art jams at $50 and bear-painting workshops at $55, both about two hours, for all ages.
  • Art Workshops by Leach: watercolour in the Chinese style for 12 and up, a two-day workshop on 12 and 13 December, 10am to 1pm, $240 plus Eventbrite's booking fee. Its Eventbrite listing says 14 and up.

Many studios above also run December holiday camps. Browse art camps for children and kids' craft workshops on Jungle.

What art classes cost

A weekly class costs $32 to $65 at the 15 studios that publish a price a class, and most charge $40 to $55. My Art Pencil is the cheapest and Pei-Per's four-lesson pack the dearest; Abrakadoodle's 90-minute drop-in is $75. Few studios say whether GST is included, and Artlette is one of the few that does.

The fee is rarely the whole bill. Registration runs from $20 at ArtzGraine to $80 before GST at Tree Art, Artlette adds $54.50 for materials, and Art Grain takes a three-lesson deposit plus up to $60 a year for materials. Achievers Arts asks children to bring their own supplies. Packages often expire: Artify's four lessons within two months, Pei-Per's through holidays and illness. A full guide to what art classes cost in Singapore is coming soon.

How we picked these

Every studio here is listed on Jungle. We checked each art studio Jungle lists on its own website, timetable and booking system, and kept every one that runs a regular class for children aged 2.5 to 12 and is trading. Studios that sell only single sessions have their own section. Schools listed under art that teach dance, music, martial arts or ice cream making, or nothing for children, are left out.

Five studios on Jungle have no card. HiArt's website shows scripts a bot check, and Sage Artelier's and Shine Arts Creative Studio's websites refused our requests, so none could be checked. Muzart Learning Centre at West Coast Plaza is a Malaysian franchise whose site lists art and clay programmes from 3, but not which ones this centre runs. Heartroom Gallery is now a home studio whose site has not been updated since January 2024.

The quick picks are our judgement on stated criteria: a published price for every level and a low-cost trial; the lowest published price a class; and the most complete published route, with fees, to a DSA portfolio. Every fact was read on the studio's own pages on 4 November 2026.
