Classes for 3 Year Olds in Singapore: 8 Activities, 105 Schools (2026)

TL;DR – The Quick Version

Across our eight age guides, 105 schools on Jungle run a class a 3-year-old can join. At 3, most ballet, gymnastics, art and language classes become drop-off, 30 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes long. Swimming, football and first keyboard classes are the exceptions: six swim schools, two football academies, Yamaha and MYC still want you there. Published prices run from about $21 a Kumon session to $105 a Berlitz lesson. Browse preschooler activities on Jungle.

At 3, most classes in Singapore stop wanting you in the room. Ten of the 15 gymnastics schools that take a 3-year-old run a drop-off class, and at least ten art studios say plainly that you leave.

The exceptions are the ones parents expect least. Six of the 18 swim schools keep you in the pool past your child's third birthday. Two of the four football academies that take 3-year-olds want you on the pitch. And Yamaha's and MYC's first keyboard groups need a parent beside the child.

What a 3-year-old gets also varies more by activity than by school. A first ballet class at Tanglin Arts Studio is 30 minutes; BriliBrain's Chinese class for Nursery 1 to K2 is 1 hour 45. Groups run from one teacher to two children at My Art Pencil to 18 at City Ballet Academy. Published prices run from about $21 a Kumon session to $105 a Berlitz phonics lesson.

Every school in them was checked on its own website, timetable or fee sheet on 6 or 7 October 2026. For each activity we say what a class looks like at exactly 3, and show the two or three schools whose class for this age is clearest.

Is your 3-year-old ready for a class?

They can be left with a teacher. At 3, most gymnastics, ballet, art, Chinese and English classes here are drop-off. If not yet, choose a class that keeps you in: a Happy Fish toddler swim, Borussia's Bambini Club or Little Sailors on the pitch, or a Yamaha keyboard group.
They can follow a group for 45 minutes to an hour. Classes here run from 30 minutes of ballet at Tanglin Arts Studio to 1 hour 45 of Chinese at BriliBrain. If not yet, start short: Amy's ballet runs 35 minutes and Berlitz phonics 40.
They cope in a group. Groups at this age run from two children a teacher at My Art Pencil to 18 in a class at City Ballet Academy. If not yet, look for a small one: Turf City (four a coach), State Swim (four a class) or Tien Hsia (six).

If one of the three is not there yet, a trial will tell you more than any checklist. Of the schools below, City Ballet Academy, Artsy Bugsy, Borussia, Lion City Sailors, Turf City, Tien Hsia and, for a limited time, ARTARY run free trials, and Yamaha a free sit-in. Elsewhere published trials cost $30 to $78.

Gymnastics

At 3, gymnastics becomes a drop-off hour at most gyms: ten of the 15 run a class for this age without parents, and Alpha, GymKraft, Prime and The Yard put one coach with six children. What fills the hour differs: bars, beam, vault and floor at The Yard, rolling and climbing on apparatus at GymKraft, ball and rope work at Karpenko.

Karpenko Gymnastics Academy

Basic Gymnastics is described as a child's first gymnastics class without parents, and parents are asked not to enter the gym. Each hour runs a warm-up and stretching, acrobatics, then ball and rope work and first dance steps, so it leans towards rhythmic gymnastics. Packages expire after six months and are not refundable. The only timetable online is from January 2025, so ask for current times. A gym in Serangoon Gardens is not yet on Jungle.

The Little Gym

Funny Bugs is an hour of gymnastics skills, tumbling and group games built around a weekly theme, for children the school calls independent enough to attend without parents. Under 3, its classes are 45 minutes with a parent, so this is the step up. It is the dearest gymnastics class in our guide, with a $98 yearly membership on top, and the programme is non-competitive. Giggle Worms follows at 4.

Price: $798 for a 10-week term ($80 a class), plus $98 a year membership per child.

GymKraft

KinGym is a drop-off class with one coach to six children: warm-ups and line drills, then rolling, swinging, climbing and jumping on real apparatus. The booking system splits groups by age, with weekend groups for 3 and 4-year-olds. Off-peak weekday slots are the cheapest published gymnastics class in our guide. The catches: a $55 trial that is never credited, and an $80 registration fee. A third gym at Forum on Orchard Road is not yet on Jungle.

Ballet

At 3, most ballet schools expect you to leave. Amy's, Ballet Quarter, Crestar, Ritz and M.A Ballet say so plainly. Classes run 30 to 60 minutes and are built on stories, props and music rather than technique. Five schools publish a fee for a class a 3-year-old can join, from $25 to $40.

City Ballet Academy

Creative Movement 1 is grouped by birth year: it takes children born in 2023, who turn 3 this year. It mixes basic ballet steps with imaginative play, and teaches children to hear rhythm, melody, volume and tempo in the music. The school does not say whether parents stay, and classes take up to 18. There is no weekend slot for this class; Creative Movement 2, for children born in 2022, has two.

Times: Monday 4.30pm and Wednesday 4.15pm.

Preschool 1 Ballet follows the Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) syllabus: basic positions, simple barre work and travelling steps, taught with props and music. At 35 minutes it is one of the shortest first classes in our ballet guide. It is strictly drop-off, with parents invited to sit in only in May and November. Fees are due in full whatever the attendance. A second studio in Macpherson is not yet on Jungle.

M.A Ballet

Pre-Ballet works on coordination and spatial awareness to classical music, with time for free creative movement. Parents are not allowed in the studio during class, classes take up to 15, and a trial is required before enrolling. Each new term is invoiced automatically about two weeks before it starts, and fees are not refunded. RAD Pre-Primary runs alongside it from 4 at the same price.

Times: Thursday 4.10pm, Saturday 10am and Sunday 11am.

Art

At 3, art is mostly drop-off and longer than parents expect: 60 to 90 minutes. At least ten studios say plainly that you leave, and only Abrakadoodle keeps a parent in the class, in Twoosy Doodlers for children up to 3. Seven studios publish a fee for a class a 3-year-old can join, from $30 to $56.

My Art Pencil

Explore Art introduces a new topic each week with a story and a drawing demonstration. Children then paint on their own in pastel, watercolour, acrylic and ink, sometimes with bare hands, on paper, canvas, wood and fabric. One teacher to two children is the smallest group in this hub. It is drop-off: for 3 and 4-year-olds, one parent may sit in at the trial or first class only.

Times: Thursday and Friday 3.15pm and 8.15pm; Saturday 10am, 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3pm and 4.30pm; Sunday 10am, 11.30am and 1.30pm.

Fine Art Play is the only class in our art guide set for 3-year-olds alone: 75 minutes of play and exploration on a monthly theme, with media and tools chosen to build fine motor skills and concentration. Fine Art 1 follows at 4. ARTARY does not say which campuses run Fine Art Play or publish class times, so ask the campus nearest you. Missed classes are not refunded and can be moved only within the same week.

Baby Beetles is 90 minutes of sensory exploration and craft across drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking, with all materials provided. A parent may walk a nervous child in at the first lesson but is asked to leave once they settle. Missed classes are not refunded. Studios in Bukit Timah, Holland Close and Funan are not yet on Jungle.

Times: Monday to Thursday 10am, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10am, 1pm and 3pm. The same slots are listed for Mini Mantis, the class for 5 and 6-year-olds, so ask whether ages are mixed.

Swimming

Swimming is where 3 splits schools most. Six of the 18 swim schools keep a parent in the water past a child's third birthday: Happy Fish, Marsden, Inspire Mum and Baby, Isplash, Swish and, at weekends, Swim Masters. OtterSwim and SwimShark move children into their first class without a parent at 3, and State Swim starts its Kindergarten groups at two and a half.

Otter is the school's first class without a parent, and children move up to it at 3 from Baby Otter. It starts with blowing bubbles, supported floats, kickboards and noodles, in groups of up to six per coach. The twin indoor pools in Wisteria Mall are heated to about 30 to 32°C. The school publishes neither Otter's lesson length nor a trial, and make-ups need a medical certificate.

The Toddler class, for 2 to 4, keeps you in the pool in groups of up to six. Over four levels children jump in, kick with floats, kick face-in for 3 metres and float on their back, ending with 5 metres of freestyle and backstroke. Every pool is indoor and heated to 32°C. Only Happy Fish's own swim nappy is allowed. Pools in Bedok, Toa Payoh, Tengah and Lentor are not yet on Jungle.

They learn an under-arm stroke with arm floats, back floats and jumping in without floats, and Kindy 1 ends with a 15-metre swim with arm floats. The school does not say whether a parent joins. The 25-metre indoor pool is heated to 31°C. Learn to Swim follows at 4. A second school in Aljunied is not yet on Jungle.

Music

At 3, music classes split two ways. Some go drop-off: Kindermusik Level 3, Our Music Studio's Melodic Kids and Creative Hearts' Musical Kids. Others start a keyboard group with you beside your child: Yamaha's Explorer course and MYC's Sunshine 1. Aureus and Rocktone teach one-to-one instead. Four of the 14 schools publish fees, from $45 to $72 a class.

Explorer, the first year of the Yamaha Primary Course, is designed for 3-year-olds: 50-minute keyboard groups of five to ten, with a parent in class. Each song is learnt by listening, singing, playing and reading, on piano or Electone. Expect homework from the start; Yamaha says you should ideally have a keyboard at home by the end of the first book. Missed lessons are not replaced, and younger siblings cannot come in.

Fees and the trial price are not published, and a trial can be cancelled only with a medical certificate. Young Musicians follows at four and a half.

Football

Football is the activity most likely to want you on the pitch at 3. Only four of the nine academies in our guide take a 3-year-old, and two of them, Borussia and Lion City Sailors, build the first class around a parent. Euro Soccer and Turf City do not say whether you stay. All four run 60 minutes, built on games.

Bambini Club puts parents on the pitch: the academy says 3 and 4-year-olds feel more secure chasing the ball with a parent. The hour is built on 40 small-team games the academy designed, and it is non-competitive. There is one slot a week for this age, Saturday at 8am, outdoors at SkyPark Arena. Training continues in rain and stops for lightning. The academy works with Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Times: Saturday 8am, for the term ending 17 October 2026. Next term's dates are not published.
Price: $360 for a 9-week term ($40 a session), plus a one-off $100 registration that includes a jersey and shorts.

Lion City Sailors Football School

Little Sailors Stage 1 is a parent-assisted hour of balance, running and jumping games and first kicks. Stage 2, from three and a half, reduces the parent's role and adds passing, shooting and small-sided games. You can pay for one session at a time or buy a pack, and packs expire. The academy's pages give Stage 1 two age ranges, 2.5 to 4 and 2 to 3.5, so check before you book.

Venues: Sunday 9am and 10am at Kallang Cage, 38 Jalan Benaan Kapal, and Wednesday 6pm at The Sports Arina, 20a Fernvale Road, Jalan Kayu. The Mattar Road ground runs only the Under-4 to Under-6 class, where parents watch from outside the training area.
Price: $54.50 for one session. $588.60 for 12 sessions used within four months (about $49 each) or $313.92 for 6, plus $87.20 registration including kit and a $50 refundable deposit. GST included.

The class for children born 2021 to 2023 runs in an air-conditioned room at Ceylon Sports Club, rain or shine, with one coach to up to four children. It works on agility, balance and coordination, then football basics through small challenges and competitions. The club does not say whether parents stay, and it has a no-refunds policy. Children born in 2020 train outdoors in the 90-minute Under-7 group instead.

Times: Saturday 4pm, and Sunday 9.30am and 10.30am. Sunday 4pm, Tuesday 5pm and Wednesday 5pm are listed as opening later. From the club's information pack dated 30 June 2026.
Price: The fee card lists $55 for this 60-minute indoor class, "payment per 10 sessions", without saying whether $55 covers one session or ten. Contact them to confirm. Registration is $30 and a uniform set $50.

Chinese

At 3, Chinese means Nursery 1: songs, stories and first characters, in classes of 60 to 105 minutes. Nine of the 14 schools in our guide take children this young, and none says a parent stays. No Nursery 1 group class publishes a fee. The only published price at this age is Kumon's worksheet programme, $170 a month, which runs at eight of its centres on Jungle (see English).

Hua Language Centre

Preschool Chinese Foundation for Nursery 1 is 90 minutes of circle time, songs, mini dialogues and storybooks, then worksheets done in class with the teacher. Children learn high-frequency words with picture cues, and no Chinese at home is needed. The N1 class takes up to 10 and runs only on Saturdays. For under-3s, Hua's Playgroup has a parent in the room.

Times: N1 on Saturday at 8.45am, 2.15pm and 4.45pm at United Square. These are 2026 times.

English

At 3, English is sounds before letters: letter sounds through songs, rhymes and games. Six of the nine schools in our guide take 3-year-olds, and none describes a parent-and-child class. Two publish fees for this age: Kumon at about $21 a session and Berlitz at $90 to $105 a lesson.

Berlitz Singapore

The phonics class for 3 and 4-year-olds is a play-based start: letter recognition, single letter sounds, listening games, songs and actions, in English only. Children are grouped by reading level, and lessons last 40 minutes plus a five-minute break. You buy a package of 20 or 40 lessons up front. The site mentions no trial class, only a free placement chat, and does not say whether parents stay.

Times: Teaching hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 9.15pm, Saturday 8.30am to 5.30pm and Sunday 8.30am to 1pm.
Price: $2,100 for 20 lessons ($105 a class) or $3,600 for 40 lessons ($90 a class), including the $200 registration fee and $140 of materials.

Kumon English is not a taught group class. After a free diagnostic test, each child works alone through short worksheets at their own level, twice a week at the centre and on the other days at home, typically 15 to 30 minutes a day for preschoolers. Kumon takes children from 3, though it says many start in K1 or K2. Eight of these centres also teach Chinese, at the same fee.
