Classes for 2 Year Olds in Singapore: 6 Activities, 51 Schools (2026)

TL;DR – The Quick Version

We checked six kinds of class for 2-year-olds at 51 Jungle-listed schools. In ballet, gymnastics, swimming, music and art, 37 of the 45 schools that take a 2-year-old say a parent joins the class, and the other eight do not say. Most classes run 30 to 60 minutes. Playgroups are the exception: three take children from 18 or 19 months for two or three hours, a step before preschool. Browse toddler activities on Jungle.

At 2, most classes still want you in the room. Of the 45 schools in our five age guides that take a 2-year-old, 37 say a parent or carer joins the class: dancing alongside at ballet, in the water at swimming, beside your child at music. The other eight do not say either way. If you want a morning to yourself, look at playgroups instead. Three on Jungle take toddlers from 18 or 19 months for two or three hours.

This guide covers six activities for 2-year-olds, toddlers and young preschoolers: ballet, gymnastics, swimming, music, art and playgroups, at 51 schools listed on Jungle. The first five come from our age guides, checked on each school's own site on 6 and 7 October 2026. The playgroups were checked on 12 October 2026. For each activity we show two or three schools with the clearest class for exactly age 2, then link the full guide.

Start with the summary and the readiness checklist, then go to the activity you have in mind. Every card says what a 2-year-old does, for how long, whether you stay, and what it costs where the school publishes it. Many schools do not publish fees, and the cards say so.

At 2, a class is something you do together. Ballet is songs, props and copying the teacher. Gymnastics is obstacle courses and first rolls. Swimming is jumping in to you and turning back to the wall. Most classes run 30 to 60 minutes, once a week.

From 3, many of the same schools switch to drop-off. Ritz, All That Jazz, Tanglin Arts Studio and Bubbles all move children to a class without parents at 3. Swimming keeps you in longer: Swish until three and a half, and aquaDucks until its fifth preschool level.

Is your 2-year-old ready for a class?

They can stay with you through 30 to 60 minutes of songs, movement or play. If not yet, start with a 30-minute class such as Tanglin Arts Studio's Dance With Me or a toddler swimming lesson.
You, or a regular carer, can come every week. Most classes at this age need an adult with each child, and swim schools need that adult in the water. aquaDucks accepts a grandparent or helper.
For a playgroup, they can be left with a teacher for two or three hours. If not yet, a parent-and-toddler class such as ACT 3's drama hour keeps you in the room.

If one of the three is not there yet, a trial will tell you more than any checklist. Most trials at this age are paid: $40 to $75 at the schools below that publish a price. Yamaha's sit-in trial for its course for 2-year-olds is free.

Ballet

At 2, ballet is songs, props and copying the teacher rather than steps. Seven of the 21 ballet schools in our guide take a 2-year-old, and five of them have a parent dancing alongside. Classes run 30 to 45 minutes, and most mix ballet with jazz or creative movement.

All That Jazz Dance Academy

Family Fun Ballet & Jazz is a 45-minute class for ages 2 to 3 where a parent joins in. Each lesson has a theme, characters and small missions, so toddlers learn steps by acting them out to music, such as gliding like a swan on a lake. It runs eight times a week across the two studios on Jungle. Twinkle Tots, a 60-minute drop-off class, follows at 3. A third studio at Dunearn Village is not yet on Jungle.

Dance & Grow is a 40-minute parent-and-child class for ages 2 to 3. Parent and child learn first ballet and jazz steps through stories, songs and chants, stretching and props, with a new theme every few lessons. There is one slot a week. From 3, Ballet Preschool is a 45-minute class on the RAD syllabus, and parents wait outside.

Dance With Me is a 30-minute Early Years class on Leap 'N Learn, a ballet-based creative movement curriculum mixed with pretend play, for up to ten children. The studio prices its "accompanied classes" separately, but its pages never name the class or say outright that a parent joins, so ask. It runs four times a week inside the Hollandse Club, which non-members can use.

Times: Wednesday 3.45pm, Saturday 9.45am and 11am, and Sunday 10.15am, for the August to December 2026 term.
Price: Accompanied classes are $30 each, or $250 for a 10-class card ($25 a class).

Gymnastics

At 2, gymnastics is 45 minutes to an hour of climbing, rolling and obstacle courses with you beside your child. Nine of the 16 gymnastics schools in our guide take a 2-year-old, and eight put a parent in the class. What happens in it varies, from real bars and beam at Bubbles to soft play, games and music at NorthStar.

Gymtots is a 60-minute class for walking toddlers up to three and a half, with a parent joining in. It opens with circle time, songs and a focus skill, then moves round stations on bars, beam, vault, rings and trampoline, changing each week. The gym has a 12-metre tumble track and a foam pit. Kindergym, the drop-off class, follows at 3. A second gym in Bedok is not yet on Jungle.

Times: Monday 10am, Thursday 9.30am and 3pm, Friday 10am, Saturday 8.45am and Sunday 11am. These are Term 6 2026 times.

Parent & Baby is an hour of movement games and exercises for balance and coordination, with a parent alongside. The school says toddlers can start at 24 months. A paid trial is compulsory, and no timetable is published: you agree a fixed weekly slot after the trial. Funfit Kinder, the drop-off class with an assessment every term, starts at three and a half.

Price: $594 for an 11-lesson term ($54 a class), plus $65 registration.

Gym Tots, for 18 months to 3, is obstacle courses and stations with a parent. KinderTots, an hour on bars, beam, vault and floor, follows at 3. Classes can hold 32 children with four coaches. Billing is monthly by card and renews automatically, and leaving needs 30 days' notice or a $120 charge. The Bukit Timah gym has moved to KAP Mall, and the Jurong gym to Perennial Business City.

Swimming

At 2, a swimming lesson still has an adult in the pool. Of the 17 swim schools in our guide that take a 2-year-old, 15 put a parent or carer in the water, and the other two do not say. Toddler levels add jumping in to the parent, turning back to the wall and climbing out. Lessons are 30 minutes at most schools.

The Duckling toddler levels, for 13 to 35 months, are 30-minute classes of six children per coach, each with a parent, grandparent or helper in the water. Toddlers jump in, turn back to the wall, climb out and practise swimming underwater for three seconds. The pools are heated and salt-chlorinated. Preschool levels follow at 3, unaccompanied from level 5. Pools at Pasir Panjang and Upper Bukit Timah are not yet on Jungle.

Mini Fini classes are grouped strictly by age, and a 2-year-old joins Mini Fini 4, for 24 to 42 months: 30 minutes for up to five children, each with a parent in the water. Toddlers practise safe entry, water on the face, bubbles and supported floats through games and songs. All three Dempsey pools are temperature-controlled, two of them outdoors. From three and a half, children join Learn to Swim without a parent.

Price: $40 a weekday class or $46 at weekends, before 9% GST, billed monthly. One make-up token a month.

Children work through three stages aligned with SwimSafer 2.0: safe entry and brief submersion, then floating and rolling from face-down onto the back, then kicking and gliding short distances. Classes run about 30 minutes at Jurong West Swimming Complex, three times a week. The address below is the school's office.

Music

At 2, a music class is songs, movement, percussion and listening games. Ten of the 14 music schools in our guide take a 2-year-old, and eight of them have a parent in the room. Classes run 30 to 60 minutes. Fees for this age are rare: only Yamaha and one MYC centre publish a figure.

Toddlers do finger plays, rocking, bouncing, singing and listening games, and tap out rhythms with hands, feet and percussion, ten weekly sessions a term. A Family Pack of book, CD and instrument is compulsory. Tutti Tots, from 3, takes four children and ends on a mini keyboard.

Yamaha Music School

The Apple Course is Yamaha's course for 2-year-olds: 40 minutes of rhythm work, songs, imagination games and live music from the teacher, with a parent alongside, in groups of five to ten. It runs for a year, at only three schools. At 3, the Explorer course adds piano or Electone in 50-minute groups, still with a parent. Missed lessons are not replaced.

Art

Art is the hardest class to find at 2. Of the 27 studios in our art guide, only two take a child under two and a half, and only Abrakadoodle says a parent stays. Seven more start at two and a half; Da Little and Art Grain say those classes are drop-off.

Toddlers scribble, tear, paste, print and paint with washable materials, with songs and movement between short activities. The studio warns that sessions get messy. Mini Doodlers follows from 3, moving on to acrylic, watercolour, gouache and oil pastel.

Times: Tuesday 3.30pm and 4.30pm, Wednesday 4.30pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10am. These are 2026 times.

Playgroups and toddler programmes

Playgroups are where a 2-year-old is most often left with a teacher. Three on Jungle take toddlers from 18 or 19 months for two or three hours on weekday mornings, as a step before preschool. The Makers' Club says plainly that its playgroup is drop-off. None of the three publishes its playgroup fees. Three more programmes keep you in the room: a drama class, a stay-and-play space and My Gym's toddler hour.

From two and a half, Master Makers runs until noon.

Mornings are play-led: sensory exploration, child-led inquiry and outdoor play in the campus garden. Mosaic offers a campus tour rather than a trial.

Gymsters, for 19 months to 3, is a 60-minute class with a parent: toddler-safe rides, new equipment each week, songs, skill stations and a puppet show, with homework for parents. Preschool Ready, for 19 months to three and a half, is a 3-hour morning on three or four days a week, ten children at most, one teacher to five.

ACT 3 International

ACT 3 Drama Academy's class for 18 to 36 months is an hour of sensory-rich storytelling, songs and movement, and every child comes with a parent. A term is ten weekly sessions. This term the toddler class runs once a week, on Saturday morning at Cairnhill, and the Kovan and Punggol studios list nothing under 3. ACT 3 has run drama classes for children since 1994.

Times: Saturday 10.45am to 11.45am, for Term 4 2026 (12 September to 14 November).
Price: $380 for a 10-week term, including a one-time $30 registration fee ($35 a class without it). These are Term 4 2026 fees.

Better Play

Better Play is a play space for 4 months to 4 years where a parent stays: entry is priced for one child and one adult. Visiting teachers run drop-in toddler classes, Mandarin music for ages 1 to 3 and 2 to 4, English story play for 1 to 3 and Spanish music for 1 to 4, each followed by up to an hour of free play. You register by WhatsApp. It is closed on Wednesdays.

Times: Mandarin Music for 1 to 3 on Friday 9.30am, English Story Play on Thursday 10am, and Mandarin Music for 2 to 4 on Thursday 4pm. These are August and September 2026 times; October's are not posted.
Price: $38 a drop-in class, or $42 for Mandarin music. Play-space entry alone is $25 for two hours from Monday to Thursday, and $29 from Friday to Sunday.

Also for toddlers with a parent: Centre Stage School of the Arts runs Drama Tots for 18 months to 3, and one adult must come with every child. Its course page names Portsdown, while its timetable lists Saturdays at Laguna Park, so ask which.
