Orchard Road malls with kids: every play area, class and kids' menu from Tanglin to Plaza Singapura (2026)

The 2 free playgrounds on Orchard Road are both on Level 5, both at the expensive end of the street, and neither mall publishes their opening hours. Paragon's forest tower sits beside Mothercare; 313@Somerset's padded corner is behind the Food Republic food court. Everything else a child can climb on Orchard Road costs money, from $5 at Forum to $25.90 at The Centrepoint.

That is the first thing a parent needs to know. The second is that 4 of the 10 malls below, Wisma Atria, Ngee Ann City, Orchard Central and Plaza Singapura, have no play area of any kind, and Ngee Ann City's Happy Castle has closed. The third is the class count: Forum has 8 enrichment centres on Jungle, Great World has 5, and Wisma Atria has none.

Two dates shape the next 3 months. Every tenant on Levels 5 to 8, 11 and 12 of Orchard Central must leave by 30 November 2026, taking a pottery studio, a martial arts gym and a Japanese buffet with a child price. And HPL holds URA approval, granted in 2023, to demolish Forum for two towers. No date has been set and the mall trades normally.

Tanglin to Paragon: the western end

1. Tanglin Mall

Tanglin Mall has the only free play area west of Orchard MRT, a Kids Play Zone on Level 3 that the mall's family page lists but does not describe, with no hours, age or photo. The paid play is Impressions Kids Club at #03-136, $35 a child with two adults included. Five tenants on Level 3 teach, 2 of them on Jungle. There is no food court until December 2026, and no family car park lots.

Why kids will love it: The train ride inside Impressions, then a free run in the play zone while a sibling is in ballet next door. Best for ages 1 to 7. Go at 9am on a weekday, an hour before the shops open, and Impressions is empty.

Price: Kids Play Zone free. Impressions $35 a child, two adults included. Tanglin Cookhouse kids' mains $13 to $15. Little Farms Table feeds under-12s free on Sundays after 5pm.
Ages: Impressions 8 months to 12. Play zone best for 2 to 5.
Nearest MRT: Orchard Boulevard (TE13), 4 minutes on foot.

The class count is 2 on Jungle, Our Music Studio at #03-113 and Impressions itself, plus Lil Ninja Academy, Tree Art and Ballet Classique unlisted. Jungle's third Tanglin listing, Abrakadoodle, is not in the mall's October 2026 directory. The Baby Care Room is on Level 3, with a changing station, washing point, hot water and a nursing room; Level 2 has a changing room only.

2. Forum The Shopping Mall

Forum is the kids' mall of Orchard Road and has no free play at all. Hip Kids Play on Level 2 charges $5 a child per entry for under-sevens below 120cm, in timed sessions booked at the Information Counter, confirmed on the mall's page on 5 October 2026. SMIGY at #B1-05 to 08 is the paid playground. Toys"R"Us is on Level 3, with a children's bookshop, paediatric clinic and kids' dentist on Level 2.

The dated fact: HPL received URA approval in 2023 to redevelop Forum, voco Orchard and HPL House into two towers of 64 and 43 storeys. No demolition date has been announced. Ask any centre you enrol with what its plan is.

Why kids will love it: A $5 soft-play room they can have to themselves on a weekday morning, then the toy shop as the reward. Best for ages 2 to 8. Do the play before the class, not after.

Price: Hip Kids Play $5 per child per entry. SMIGY from $19 for an hour per its Jungle listing; its 2024 poster said $23. No kids' menu in the mall; McDonald's at #B1-25 does a Happy Meal.
Ages: Hip Kids Play up to 7 and under 120cm. SMIGY 1 to 6.
Nearest MRT: Orchard (NS22/TE14), 5 minutes on foot.

Eight enrichment centres here are on Jungle, the most on the street: Aureus Academy, The Little Gym, Children's Worklab, KyungHee Taekwondo, All That Jazz, The Dance Place, The Dance Station and Spirit Stretch, with Julia Gabriel and Gymkraft unlisted. The Mother's Room is on Level 1, with changing stations in the Basement 1, Level 1 and Level 2 toilets.

3. Paragon

Paragon has Gucci on the ground floor and a free forest-themed playground on Level 5 beside Mothercare: a three-storey tower with two slides, a seesaw and a toddler hammock, rebuilt in March 2024. The mall's own Paragon Junior page, read on 5 October 2026, still gives it no hours; the last dated source, July 2026, has sessions 11am to 1pm, 2pm to 4pm and 5pm to 8pm. There is no paid play and no food court.

Why kids will love it: Three storeys of tree house and a choice of slides, for nothing. Best for ages 2 to 6. Arrive at 11am, not 1.30pm, and bring socks for the padded floor.

Price: Playground free. No kids' menu in 60-odd food outlets; Din Tai Fung at #B1-03/05 has high chairs and a children's dining set.
Ages: Tower 4 to 14, toddler equipment 2 to 5.
Nearest MRT: Orchard (NS22/TE14), Exit A, 5 minutes on foot.

Two classes are on Jungle, Tree Art at #05-34/34A with a free 60-minute trial and Edvox Music and Dance next door, plus MindChamps PreSchool on Level 6 unlisted. Nursing rooms are on Levels 3 and 5, each with a changing station, basin and hot water. The paediatricians are in the tower above: Kinder Clinic at #07-02/03.

Orchard to Somerset: the middle stretch

4. Wisma Atria

Wisma Atria is the first mall east of Orchard MRT and the one with the least for a child. There is no play area, no enrichment centre and no Jungle listing; the one inventory match, Kamal Arts, is in Geylang Serai and matched on a street name. What it has is Food Republic on Level 4, Cotton On Kids and Seed Heritage on Level 1, Smiggle and ActionCity in the basement, and a stroller loan at the Level 1 concierge.

Why kids will love it: The food court, where a $10 plate of chicken rice arrives in 4 minutes, and the stationery shop after it. Best for ages 5 to 10 on the way to somewhere else. Change a nappy before you arrive.

Price: Free to walk through. Food Republic stall prices, about $10 a plate. No kids' menu is published by any restaurant in the mall.
Ages: Any.
Nearest MRT: Orchard (NS22/TE14), direct underpass.

The nursing room is the worst on the street: a curtained chair, a changing mat, a sink and a hot water dispenser inside the Level 3 ladies' toilet, with no power point, as Little Day Out described it in July 2019. The mall's own concierge page, read on 5 October 2026, lists the stroller loan but no nursing room at all. Takashimaya's, across the road, is 3 minutes away.

5. Ngee Ann City

Ngee Ann City has no play area since Happy Castle, the space-themed indoor playground, closed, and the mall's directory lists no replacement. What it has is 2 classes on Jungle in Tower B, a LEGO Certified Store at #05-15A, Action City at #B2-13, Books Kinokuniya at #04-20, the Takashimaya children's department on Level 4 and the best nursing room in Singapore on the same floor.

Why kids will love it: The LEGO wall and a Kinokuniya children's section big enough to lose an hour in. Best for ages 4 to 10. Do the cooking class first; the kitchen is on the third floor of the office tower, not the mall.

Price: ABC Cooking Studio and Berlitz do not publish their fees online. Royal Host at #B2-25/26 in Takashimaya has a $15 kids' meal with a toy, as reported in August 2025.
Ages: ABC Cooking kids' classes 4 to 8. Berlitz from 4.
Nearest MRT: Orchard (NS22/TE14), 5 minutes on foot.

The 2 Jungle listings are ABC Cooking Studio at #03-12/12A in Tower B, kids' classes for 4 to 8 in groups of 4, and Berlitz at #16-01, languages from age 4. Nursing rooms are on Basement 1 and Basement 2 of the mall, and Takashimaya's Level 4 room has 5 lockable cubicles, each with its own changing table, plus a bottle warmer and a high chair.

6. 313@Somerset

313@Somerset has the second free playground on the street, a padded corner on the Level 5 Sky Terrace reached through the Food Republic food court: a low slide, a red play house, a springer and a mini bridge for ages 2 to 5. The mall's services page, read on 5 October 2026, lists the playground, parents' rooms on Basement 3, Level 1 and Level 5, and family parking lots. The paid play is K Bowling Club at #03-27.

Why kids will love it: A slide under open sky while you finish a coffee from the food court, then a bowling lane with the gutters blocked. Best for ages 2 to 6 on the terrace, 5 and up for bowling. Go before 11am; the terrace has little shade.

Price: Playground free. K Bowling $11 to $17 a game by day and time, plus shoes, service charge and GST. Marché at #01-40 has a Picky Kids meal at $18.90 with an indoor play corner; a search snippet said the outlet would close in July, and the mall directory still lists it, so call 6593 1703 first.
Ages: Playground 2 to 5. K Bowling from 5.
Nearest MRT: Somerset (NS23), in the building.

Jungle lists 2 merchants here: K Bowling Club and Cafe de Paris at #B1-37, which runs art jamming for ages 6 and up with materials included. Neither is an enrichment centre in the term-fee sense; 313 is a play mall, not a class mall.

7. Orchard Central

Orchard Central is the mall with the deadline. Far East Organization told every tenant on Levels 5 to 8, 11 and 12 to leave by 30 November 2026, so the floors can become offices, with Deloitte moving in from 2027. That takes Am I Addicted's pottery studio on Level 5, Evolve MMA on Level 6, Sandbox VR and Kiseki with it. X-Scap8, the Level 7 funground, closed on 22 February 2026. There is no play area for small children.

Why kids will love it: One last adult-and-child pottery hour at $98 and a free Little Samurai class, booked in October or November. Best for ages 4 to 10. After 30 November, the painted plate at Clayful on Level 3 and the basement food street are what is left.

Ages: Pottery hand building any age, wheel 12 and up. Evolve kids' classes 4 to 13.
Nearest MRT: Somerset (NS23), 2 minutes on foot.

Jungle lists 4 Orchard Central merchants. Two are gone: X-Scap8 and Hueplay Studio, now at Beach Road. Evolve MMA at #06-01 gives a complimentary first class and has not said where Orchard members go. Nursing rooms are on Levels 3, 4 and 7; expect the Level 7 room to close with the floor.

8. The Centrepoint

The Centrepoint has the most expensive paid play on the street and the parenting sites price it wrong. Pirate Land at #04-08 to 11 charges $25.90 for an hour and $34.90 for two, one adult included, per its own ticket poster; the $15.90 and $28.90 figures elsewhere are stale. Its page confirmed hours and unit on 5 October 2026. The free thing is A Novel Escape, a reading corner at #02-49 run with the National Library Board, to 30 October.

Why kids will love it: Filling a trolley in Pirate Land's pretend supermarket, then the ball pit. Best for ages 2 to 6. Buy the two-hour weekday ticket, which becomes an all-day ticket, and take the free reading corner before it ends.

Five enrichment centres are in the building and 3 current ones are on Jungle: WE ART at #04-02 with an October camp at $90 a day, Trapped Escape Room at #03-26, and Pirate Land. Two older listings, Studio Miu Art and The Lab, have left. Seimpi Education at #03-16/17 gives a free $60 lesson until 31 October 2026. The nursing room is on Level 1.

Dhoby Ghaut and the River Valley detour

9. Plaza Singapura

Plaza Singapura is the biggest mall on this list and has no play area we can confirm. One search listing puts a SMIGY at #06-06, but SMIGY's own locations are Forum, PLQ, Tiong Bahru and United Square, so do not plan on it. What is confirmed is Yamaha Music School on Level 6, Timezone at #07-02/03, Mothercare at #03-08, Spotlight and Daiso on Level 5 and a Golden Village cinema. Jungle has 1 merchant here, Yamaha, with 2 location rows.

Why kids will love it: The arcade on Level 7 and the Daiso aisle, with a cinema for a rainy afternoon. Best for ages 5 to 12. A music trial is the only class in the building; book it rather than browse.

Nearest MRT: Dhoby Ghaut (NS24/NE6/CC1), direct Basement 2 link.

Yamaha's two Jungle rows give #06-01 and #06-21; the school's own page and Jungle's fuller listing use #06-21. Nursing rooms are beside the ladies' toilets on Levels 2, 3 and 6 and Level 4 of the extension, with lockable breastfeeding cubicles and a call button at the door, the best-equipped set on the Dhoby Ghaut end. The mall's own site names a Family Services page but lists no levels.

10. Great World, the River Valley detour

Great World is a 10-minute taxi from Tanglin Mall and the best class mall near Orchard Road: 5 centres on Jungle, 7 in total, all on Level 3 between #03-103 and #03-126, beside Amazonia and the Food Junction food court. The free Playland on Level 2 is a transport-themed outdoor playground open 9am to 10pm, closed in rain or lightning, confirmed on the mall's family page on 5 October 2026. The mall has 4 family car park lots.

Why kids will love it: Climbing inside a hot air balloon and coming out of the slide, then Amazonia's wave slide if it rains. Best for ages 3 to 8. Come after 5pm when the Playland surfaces have cooled.

The 5 Jungle listings are Amazonia, My Gym at #03-106 with a $65 trial, Aureus Academy at #03-122 from $279 a month, The Eton Academy and Abrakadoodle. Nursing rooms are on Basement 1, Level 1 and Level 2, none on the classes floor.
