Every children's enrichment centre at Great World is on the same floor. Seven sit along Level 3 between #03-103 and #03-126, with Amazonia at #03-113, the Food Junction food court at #03-116 and the Golden Village cinema at #03-125. Drop one child at ballet, walk a four-year-old to gym class 30 metres away and buy a coffee without a lift. No other River Valley or Orchard Road mall comes close.
The mall opened in 1997 as Great World City, on the site of the old Great World Amusement Park, and was rebuilt from 2018 to 2021 around Great World MRT station, which opened on 13 November 2022. The free shuttle buses from Newton, Chinatown and Queenstown were withdrawn on 1 January 2023, whatever a tenant's website says. Exit 3 lands on a bridge into Level 2, steps from the Playland.
That Playland is the mall's one free attraction and it is outdoors, with no roof. It shuts whenever it rains or there is lightning, which in Singapore is a real part of the year. Plan the paid option, Amazonia, as the wet-weather fallback and you will not be caught out.
This guide covers every kids' reason to go, place by place, with the unit, the hours and the price. Where a centre publishes no fee we say so rather than guess. For the rest of the neighbourhood, read our guide to things to do with kids in Orchard Road and River Valley.
Quick steer
The Playland is an open-air playground on Level 2, in front of the Tipo Strada pasta restaurant at #02-152/153, and it is free. The mall built it around a transport theme: a hot air balloon climbing dome made of rope with a metal tube slide down the middle, a train with carriages, a ship with its own slide and climbing net, a tunnel, a trampoline, a see-saw and an elephant-shaped rocker. The floor is soft rubber.
The mall's own page lists it for ages 3 to 12, open daily from 9am to 10pm, and closed during rain or lightning. The catch is the weather. There is no shelter over the equipment, so it is also hot in the early afternoon. A school-age child will tire of the balloon dome before a preschooler does and then ask for Amazonia.
Why kids will love it: Climbing the inside of a hot air balloon and coming out of the slide at the bottom, then driving the train. Best for ages 3 to 7. Come after 5pm when the surfaces have cooled, and if the sky is grey go straight to Level 3 instead.

Amazonia at #03-113 is the oldest indoor playground in the mall and one of the oldest in Singapore, celebrating its 15th anniversary with ticket and party promotions from 15 August to 15 November 2026.
The play gym is Arctic-themed, more than 3,000 square feet and 10 metres high, with what it calls the tallest wave slide in Singapore, netted basketball trampolines, a snowball ball pit with vacuum tubes, a 9 by 4 metre interactive video wall and a separate toddler soft-play zone with a mini slide and swings. A bistro at the entrance cooks on site, so the adult does not have to leave.
Prices on the ticketing site are $28.80 for a toddler under three and $38.90 for a child aged three and up, and each child ticket includes one adult. Play is unlimited on weekdays and capped at three hours on weekends and public holidays. Socks are compulsory; the site does not list a price for buying them, so bring your own. Monday closes early at 4.30pm for maintenance.
Why kids will love it: The wave slide, which is tall enough to make a seven-year-old pause at the top. Best for ages 3 to 8, and the toddler zone keeps a two-year-old busy for an hour. Go on a weekday for the unlimited ticket.

Ages: 1 to 12.
Nearest MRT: Great World (TE15), Exit 3.
The Ringo Rally Ride is a mini vehicle track on Level 2, in front of Tipo Strada and beside the Playland, where a child drives a small car round a marked circuit. It costs $12 a ride, which is the most expensive five minutes in the building, and the mall's page says an adult must supervise throughout. It runs from noon on weekdays and from 11am on weekends and public holidays, to 8pm every day.
Why kids will love it: Steering a car on their own with nobody holding the handle. Best for ages 3 to 6. Do the free Playland first and offer the ride as the finish, not the start.

Walk past My Gym on Level 3 and the corridor opens onto the Roof Terrace, a planted outdoor deck with animal topiaries, a few photo spots and an outdoor swing. It is free, open from 9am to 10pm and closed during rain or lightning like the Playland below it.
It is not a playground, but it is the only place in the mall where a child can run in the open air between a class and lunch, and there is one swing, so expect to wait for it on a weekend.
Beside the Customer Service Counter on Level 2 there is also a Mini Makers' Corner, a small table of colouring and drawing sheets for the under-sixes, with a parent required to stay.
Why kids will love it: A swing in the sky and a hedge shaped like an animal. Best for ages 2 to 6, for ten minutes after a class rather than as a destination.

The kids' retail is on Level 2, in one run. Toys"R"Us is at #02-117, with The Better Toy Store at #02-115 for the wooden and educational toys next door and Liliewoods Social at #02-113 for kids' furniture and a shop floor children are allowed to play on. Motherswork at #02-118 is the baby shop, Chateau de Sable at #02-119 and Cotton On Kids at #02-116 are the clothes.
Evryday Studios at #01-165B has a crafting counter where a child irons motifs onto a name strap. Minmed Paediatrics is at #B2-128 for the fever that arrives mid-visit. The Schoolhouse by Busy Bees at #02-132 is a full-day preschool rather than an enrichment centre, so it is not in the list below.
Seven enrichment centres operate in the mall and every one of them is on Level 3. Four are on Jungle and come first, with the three unlisted ones after. Two publish a full price list, three publish a trial price, and one does not publish anything.

Photo: Abrakadoodle Art Studio, Jungle listing
Abrakadoodle at #03-104 is the American children's art franchise, with its second Singapore studio at Tanglin Mall. Classes are banded by age: Twoosy Doodlers for 20 months to 3 years, Mini Doodlers for 3 to 5 and Doodlers for 6 to 12, in groups of ten to twelve with a teacher for every eight to ten children. Students can start at any point in the year.
The studio publishes a trial price, $75 for a one-hour class or $95 for 90 minutes, for first-timers only, and the same rates for an ad hoc class. Term fees are not on the site.
Why kids will love it: Painting with acrylics on a real canvas board and taking it home wet. Best for ages 3 to 7. The Twoosy class is parent-accompanied, so clear the hour.

Photo: Aureus Academy, Jungle listing
Aureus Academy at #03-122 is the music school, with one-to-one lessons in piano, drums, guitar, violin and voice and a Musical Adventure group class for the youngest.
It is the one centre here with a published price list: three monthly packages of four lessons, $279 for 30 minutes, $399 for 45 minutes and $519 for 60 minutes, with lesson materials, a progress portal and grade certificates included. Trials are booked online, and the Great World page was advertising a discounted trial at the time of writing.
Why kids will love it: A drum kit they are allowed to hit, and a certificate at the end of every grade. Best for ages 5 and up who want an instrument rather than a music-and-movement class.

Photo: My Gym, Jungle listing
My Gym at #03-106 is the American children's gym franchise, one of four in Singapore. Classes are banded tightly by age, from Young Waddlers at 7 to 11 months through Waddlers, Gymsters and Terrific Tots to Whiz Kids at 5 to 8, each a 45-minute mix of apparatus, songs, relays and rides with a coach.
The trial is $65 for one class or $108 for two weekday classes in consecutive weeks, for non-members only. Open play sessions cost $30 for members and $40 for everyone else. Term fees are not published. Note that the website still advertises a free shuttle bus from Newton MRT; the mall withdrew it in January 2023.
Why kids will love it: Walking the beam with a parent's hand, then without it. Best for ages 1 to 5. Monday closes at 1pm, so book the trial for later in the week.

The Eton Academy at #03-126 is the enrichment arm of the EtonHouse preschool group, and at Great World it is a tuition centre for Nursery 1 to Primary 6 in English, Mathematics, Science and Chinese, taught by former MOE teachers.
It is the most transparent centre in the mall about money: a one-time $54.50 registration fee, a refundable $75 deposit per subject, and lesson fees from $65.40 to $106.82 depending on level, all inclusive of GST. Trials are requested through the website.
Why kids will love it: Small classes and a teacher who treats a Primary 2 science question as worth answering. Best for ages 5 to 12 whose parents want the MOE syllabus rather than a game.

Kumon at #03-124A is the worksheet method: maths, English and Chinese, two centre sessions a week and daily homework, pitched to the child's level rather than their school year. Kumon Singapore publishes one price for every centre, $170 a month per subject, with a one-time $50 registration fee. Before enrolling, the centre runs a free diagnostic assessment and a parent orientation, which is the closest thing to a trial.
Why kids will love it: Honestly, most do not, and the ones who do like the daily sticker chart and finishing a level. Best for ages 4 to 10 whose parents will sit through the homework.

Fees for 2026 are published for every branch: $70 a lesson or $840 a term of twelve for Primary 1 and 2, $80 or $960 for Primary 3 and 4, $85 or $1,020 for Primary 5 and 6, and $95 or $1,140 for Secondary 1 to 4, each lesson two hours, with an $80 registration fee and a $100 refundable deposit. There is no published trial.
Why kids will love it: Writing a story that gets marked for ideas, not just grammar. Best for ages 7 to 12 who already read for pleasure.

My Ballet Studio at #03-103 is the dance school, with ballet, jazz, exam classes and an annual recital for children from two and a half, and contemporary listed as coming. The mall directory carried a "temporarily closed" page for it earlier in 2026; the live listing is back to normal hours, but call before you drive in for a trial. Fees and a trial price are not published anywhere online.
Why kids will love it: Pink shoes, a barre and a recital with a costume. Best for ages 3 to 8 who respond to structure.

Great World's dining directory runs to nearly 90 tenants. As of 1 October 2026, two have a real children's offer: Bangkok Jam's kids-eat-free buffet and Tajimaya's child buffet price. The food court, PUTIEN's quiet habit and a McDonald's complete the numbered list. No Swensen's, KFC or COLLIN'S, whatever the round-ups say.
Food Junction at #03-116 is the food court, and it is on Level 3 between the classes and the cinema, which is why it is where Great World families actually eat. It reopened in 2022 with a train-themed interior and an al fresco rooftop section, and the stalls run from Korean and Japanese to Vietnamese, Thai, zi char and a German beer garden. Open 10am to 10pm.
Why kids will love it: Choosing their own stall and sitting outside on the rooftop section. Best for any age. Eat at 11.30am or after 1.30pm on a weekend; the classes floor empties into it at 12.30pm.

Bangkok Jam at #02-127 runs a weekday Thai buffet, cooked to order and brought to the table, and children under five eat free with a paying adult. Its 19th anniversary pricing, published on its own site in July 2026, is $19.90++ for an adult and $15.90++ for a child aged 5 to 10 on the Classic buffet, or $26.90++ and $18.90++ on the Premium, against usual prices of $22.90++, $18.90++, $29.90++ and $21.90++.
The buffet runs Monday to Friday, lunch 11.30am to 3pm with last seating at 2pm, and dinner from 5pm with last seating at 8pm. Outside the buffet there is a 2026 kids' menu at $9.90++ with fries and a fruit juice: egg roll rice with chicken sausage, macaroni soup, glass noodle soup, stir-fried macaroni or egg noodles.
Why kids will love it: A plate that keeps arriving, with the order taken at the table. Best for ages 2 to 10. Book a weekday dinner at 5pm and you are out before the 6.30pm rush.

Tajimaya at #B1-114/115 is a Japanese charcoal-grill buffet where the table does the cooking, and it has a proper children's price list. Children aged 5 to 10 pay $17.90++ for the lunch buffet and $19.90++ at dinner.
For a child who will not sit through 100 minutes of grilling, the kids' bento boxes are $12.90++ for the sushi, tempura ebi or kani soba bento and $15.90++ for teriyaki wagyu beef. The prices are on Tajimaya's own site, on an undated family page, so confirm when you book.
Why kids will love it: Grilling their own slice of beef over real charcoal, with a parent's hand on the tongs. Best for ages 5 to 12. Ask for a table away from the grill vents for a toddler.

PUTIEN at #02-149/150 is the Michelin-listed Fujian restaurant, and it has an unadvertised habit that parents report consistently: a child small enough for a high chair is brought a complimentary plate, usually fried rice with a little sweet and sour pork and some fruit.
Little Day Out's kids-eat-free list, updated in August 2026, notes it rather than lists it, because PUTIEN publishes no such deal. Treat it as a kindness, not a promotion, and order the lor mee for the rest of the table.
Why kids will love it: A plate that arrives before everyone else's. Best for ages 1 to 3 in the chair; older children pay full menu prices.

McDonald's is at #01-124 on Level 1, near the Exit 6 end of the mall, and it is the fallback for a child who will eat nothing else after a class. Happy Meals come with the usual toy, and the counter is a short lift ride from the Level 3 centres.
Why kids will love it: The toy. Best for any age. It is the one meal in the building you can finish in 15 minutes between a 5pm class and a 6pm pick-up.

Tipo Strada at #02-152/153 is the pasta restaurant that faces the Playland through glass, the table to sit at while an older child plays. It replaced Kith Cafe, which closed all its outlets in 2026. Elsewhere, with no children's offer but a table a child can sit at:
Dessert is in the basement: llaollao at #B1-K125, Krispy Kreme at #B1-K110, Beard Papa's at #B1-K126, Ritz Apple Strudel at #B1-K129 and Windowsill Pies at #B1-K114. On Level 1, Awfully Chocolate at #01-K102 and Tsujiri at #01-117/118. Nothing sweet is on Level 3 except the food court, so promise the ice cream for after the lift.
Great World sits on Kim Seng Promenade between Zion Road and the Singapore River, with its own MRT station underneath.
The river and Zion Road put three neighbourhoods within a short walk, and Orchard is one stop away.
