The cheapest thing to do with a child at Tanglin Mall is free, and the mall cannot tell you what it is. Its family-favourites page lists a Kids Play Zone on Level 3, opposite Lil Ninja Academy, with no photo, no age range, no hours and no size. Nobody online has described it either, so this guide treats it as a short stop, not the reason to come.
The reason to come is the rest of Level 3. Five tenants teach or exercise a child: Our Music Studio at #03-113, Ballet Classique at #03-115, Lil Ninja Academy at #03-116, Tree Art at #03-120 and Impressions Kids Club at #03-136. A children's dentist and a bookshop sit between them. Two of the five are on Jungle. The other three are named below with unit, hours and price.
Two warnings. The family page still omits Ballet Classique, and Jungle's own Abrakadoodle listing gives #03-120, a unit the mall's directory now assigns to Tree Art. The mall's directory, checked on 2 October 2026, is the version this guide follows.
This guide covers every kids' reason to go, place by place. Where a centre publishes no fee we say so rather than guess. For the rest of the street, read our guide to things to do with kids in Orchard Road and River Valley.
Quick steer
Tanglin Mall has one free play area, one paid indoor playground and a run of kiddy rides. Two older names, Whimsy Land at #03-142 and Club Coco Nut, are no longer in the mall's directory and are left out below.
The Kids Play Zone is the mall's own free play area on Level 3, opposite Lil Ninja Academy at #03-116 and beside the capsule and claw machines. That sentence is the whole of what the mall publishes about it. There is no photo on the family page, no age limit, no sock rule and no separate opening time, so mall hours of 10am to 10pm apply.
Treat it as the ten minutes before a class, not a destination. If your child needs an hour, Impressions Kids Club is 20 units along the same corridor.
Why kids will love it: A place to run while a sibling is in ballet or music next door, without a ticket. Best for ages 2 to 5. Bring socks in case, and ask at the Level 2 Customer Service Counter if you cannot find it; the signage assumes you already know.

Impressions Kids Club at #03-136/137/138 is the paid playground on Level 3, and the one place in the mall a parent can sit down for an hour. It opened at Tanglin Mall in 2023 after moving from Horsecity. Inside is a ball pit, a trampoline, tube slides, an obstacle course, a dress-up corner, wooden toys and a mini train, with a parent lounge alongside.
Entry is $35 a child and includes up to two adults. A third adult pays $10. Babies under 8 months enter free with a paying child. Covered-toe socks are compulsory for everyone, adults included, and grip socks are sold at the counter. No booking is needed.
Why kids will love it: The train ride, which comes with every ticket, then the ball pit until the hour is up. Best for ages 1 to 6. Go at 9am on a weekday, an hour before the rest of the mall opens, and you will have it to yourselves.

Jacob Ballas Children's Garden is the free children's garden at the Bukit Timah end of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, a ten-minute taxi ride or a 25-minute walk from the mall. It is open 8am to 7pm, closed on Mondays, and adults may only enter with a child under 12. The water play area, expanded to more than 500 square metres, is open for ages 2 to 12.
The tree house is closed. NParks says termite damage made the structure unsafe, and a new one is expected around the end of 2027. Do not promise it.
Why kids will love it: Water play in a garden rather than a mall, and a maze to get lost in. Best for ages 2 to 8. Pack a change of clothes and go before 10am; there is no shade on the water play deck by noon.

The small things on the family page are worth knowing. Kiddy rides are on Level 2 near Petit Bateau and Scoop Wholefoods, and on Level 3 near Silk Walk, where the Pokemon Mezastar machines also are. On the weekends of October the Level 1 atrium runs a Kids Fun Hour: a free bouncy castle on 3 and 4 October, arcade racing for a token with a $20 receipt on 10 and 11 October, and Halloween from 30 October.
For shopping, Level 2 is the kids' retail floor: The Better Toy Store at #02-113, Motherswork at #02-109, Petit Bateau at #02-105 and Chateau de Sable at #02-154, with Jamie Kay opening at #01-127 in October. Tango Mango Books and Gifts at #03-111 is the bookshop. Starlight Dental at #03-118 is a children's dentist, and Mother and Child at #03-109 runs antenatal and parenting classes.
Four enrichment centres are in the mall's directory, all on Level 3 within 40 metres of each other, and Impressions runs camps and classes as well. Two are on Jungle and come first. Two offer a free trial.

Photo: Our Music Studio, Jungle listing
Our Music Studio at #03-113 is a music and movement school for babies and preschoolers, founded in 2012, and the longest-standing kids' tenant on the floor. Classes run in 12-week themes of 45 minutes: Musical Babes from 4 to 18 months, Rhythmic Tots from 18 months to 3, Melodic Kids from 3 to 4.5 and Young Musicians from 4.5 to 6. The two youngest bands are parent-and-child; the older two are drop-off.
Trials are for first-time families only. The mall's May 2026 promotion priced two trial classes at $57.60 against a usual $72, which puts a single trial at $36. Term fees are not on its site.
Why kids will love it: A real xylophone, a drum and a teacher who sings 300 original songs rather than the same nursery rhymes. Best for ages 1 to 4. Book the trial on a weekday morning when the class is smaller.

Lil Ninja Academy at #03-116 is an obstacle-course gym for children, a mix of gymnastics, parkour and climbing, and it has been at Tanglin Mall since August 2022. Classes are banded: Mommy, Daddy and I for 18 months to 4 with a parent, Ninja Lil Ones for 4 to 6, Mini Ninjas for 6 to 8 and Ninja Tough Stuff for 8 to 12, plus a 60-minute Ninja Sixty session that mixes ages for siblings.
Holiday camps run three hours a day at $115 for one day and $100 a day for five or more. Class fees are not on the site. Socks are compulsory and sold at $5 a pair if you forget.
Why kids will love it: A warped wall, monkey bars and a coach who times them. Best for ages 4 to 9 who climb the furniture at home. A trial doubles as a placement test, so book the age band above if your child is tall.

Tree Art's Tanglin campus is at #03-120, the unit Abrakadoodle occupied until it left the mall's directory. Tree Art is the Singapore art-school chain founded in 2015 with 16 campuses, almost all in malls. The Tanglin programme runs Creative Art for 2 to 8, Professional Art from 8, portfolio preparation for 8 to 18 and DSA courses. The campus is closed on Mondays and opens at 1.30pm on weekdays.
Every new student aged 3 to 18 gets a free trial class with materials. Fees are not published.
Why kids will love it: Paint, clay and a finished piece to take home from the first lesson, in a school that treats a four-year-old's work as a portfolio. Best for ages 4 to 10. The Saturday 9.30am slot is the quiet one.

Ballet Classique at #03-115 is a Russian Vaganova-method ballet school, and the newest of the four: in July 2024 this unit was City Ballet Academy. The children's ladder starts with Ballet for Children 1 for children born in 2023 and Ballet for Children 2 for those born in 2022, then Pre-Vaganova 1 for 5 and 6 year olds, Pre-Vaganova 2 for 7 year olds, and the graded Vaganova levels. It also teaches at Valley Point.
The current offer, on its site in October 2026, is that the trial is free if you enrol within three days of it. Fees are not published.
Why kids will love it: A proper barre, a mirror wall and a teacher who corrects their feet from the first class. Best for ages 3 to 8 who want the real thing rather than a dance-and-dress-up class.

Abrakadoodle Art Studio, whose Jungle listing and own website still give #03-120, is not in the mall's October 2026 directory. Its nearest listed studio is at Great World, a ten-minute taxi ride: Abrakadoodle Art Studio at Great World. Tanglin Mall has no food court. The Food Place is due to open at #B1-119 in December 2026. Until then, 2 restaurants have a real children's offer, and 1 has a children's menu we could only confirm second-hand.
Tanglin Cookhouse at #01-106 is the British-Singaporean restaurant on the ground floor and the one with a printed children's menu. Six kids' mains run from $13 to $15: meaty beef bolognese pasta and mushroom cream pasta at $13, salmon creamy tomato pasta at $14, mini fish and chips, chicken pop and fries, and a mini pulled pork burger at $15. Each comes with a scoop of ice cream.
During the September 2026 school holidays it ran a weekday dinner deal: order two mains and the table gets one kids' meal, pasta, salad or dessert free, dine-in only, groups under 10. Ask whether it is still running before you count on it.
Why kids will love it: Fish and chips sized for them, and the ice cream arrives without asking. Best for ages 3 to 10. The $16.90 set lunch keeps the adult bill down.

Little Farms Table is the cafe attached to the Little Farms grocer on Level 2, at #02-136 in the mall's directory and #02-138 on the cafe's own site. It opens at 7.30am every day, which makes it the breakfast stop before a 9am Saturday class upstairs. One child under 12 eats free with every adult main on Sundays after 5pm, a deal Little Day Out confirmed on 4 August 2026 for the Tanglin Mall, Valley Point and Katong Point cafes.
Why kids will love it: Breakfast from 7.30am and a free dinner on Sunday. Best for any age with a high chair. The deal is after 5pm only; a Sunday lunch pays full price.

Nando's at #01-115 is the chain restaurant a child will accept without negotiation, and its Nandinos menu is the reason it is numbered here. Aggregator menus dated 2026 list it at a flat $11.50 for tenders or wings, a side and a juice, for children under 10. We could not read Nando's own Singapore site on the day of writing, so treat the figure as last year's until the counter confirms it.
Why kids will love it: Chips, plain chicken and a sauce bottle they are allowed to hold. Best for ages 4 to 10. Order the kids' meal mild; the sauces on the table do the rest.
