Things to Do With Kids in Woodlands, Singapore (2026): 16 Playgrounds, Parks and Pools From Admiralty to Marsiling

Updated 20 October 2026 · 12 min read

TL;DR – The Quick Version

Woodlands has a park playground with 26 slides, a 400-metre jetty, a $1 observatory and a swimming complex where a child pays 50 cents. Ten of the sixteen places below are free. Every entry lists the address, hours, price and a Google Maps link, checked again at source on 20 October 2026. Browse kids' activities in the North on Jungle.

Singaporeans joke that you need a passport to visit Woodlands. Parents who live there know the punchline is on everyone else. Within a few MRT stops of the Causeway sit a park playground with 26 slides, the northernmost jetty on the mainland, a free dinosaur water playground and a community club observatory that charges a dollar.

If you are searching for things to do with kids in Woodlands, this guide covers Woodlands, Admiralty and Marsiling place by place. Each entry tells you why your child will like it, how to get there, what it costs and when it opens. Where a place can be booked on Jungle, the link is there.

Ten of the sixteen are free. Every entry was checked again on 20 October 2026, using NParks, ActiveSG, the National Library Board, onePA, NEA, Mandai and the operators' own sites. Bring a change of clothes, a water bottle and sunscreen, and start early. For the town next door, read our guide to things to do with kids in Yishun.

Outdoor parks and playgrounds, all free

1. Admiralty Park

Admiralty Park

Photo: Admiralty Park, Jungle listing

Admiralty Park is a 27-hectare NParks park, and its 7-hectare play area has 26 slides. When the park reopened in 2017, NParks said that was the most of any park in Singapore. The slides are spread over three zones, Junior Play for ages 2 to 5, Adventure Play and Family Play, so a two-year-old and a ten-year-old can both find their level without leaving each other's sight.

A 20-hectare nature area of forest, mangrove, riverine and grassland habitats wraps around the play zone, with a mangrove boardwalk for a cooler walk once the slides are done.

One practical note. The north entrance car park closed permanently on 1 August 2023, so drive to the west car park on Riverside Road, which has 61 lots.

Why kids will love it: Roller slides over 30 metres long, double barrel slides 9 metres tall and a circuit descending roller ride, plus sand play and swings. Some slides are built for adults, so keep to the age signs. Younger ones belong in the Junior Play zone.

2. Woodlands Waterfront Park

Woodlands Waterfront Park

Photo: Woodlands Waterfront Park, Jungle listing

An 11-hectare park along Admiralty Road West that ends in a 400-metre jetty, the northernmost point of mainland Singapore. Johor Bahru sits across the strait, close enough to make out the buildings. A waterfront promenade runs the length of the park, flat enough for scooters and prams.

Set back from the water is a two-storey adventure play area with netted sky bridges and cabins. Fishing is allowed only at the designated spots signed along the jetty, and children can watch the regulars land a catch without a rod of their own. Rasa Istimewa, a halal restaurant at the park, handles lunch.

Why kids will love it: Walking to the end of a jetty that long feels like an expedition. The sky bridges reward climbers, the promenade rewards scooters, and there are ships to count in the strait. Come at 5pm for the breeze and stay for the lights across the water.

Price: Free. The car park has 112 lots, free 6.30am to 8.30am and charged at all other times.
Nearest MRT: Woodlands North (TE1), about 750 metres.

3. Marsiling Park

Marsiling Park

Photo: Marsiling Park, Jungle listing

Marsiling Park is 12.8 hectares beside the Bukit Timah Expressway, built around a pond with Chinese-style pavilions and a viewing tower above a cascading grain garden. The playground most families come for is a giant rope butterfly that children climb across rather than up. There is also a musical playground for ages 2 to 5, a net playground, fitness stations and a halal eatery, Mr Teh Tarik.

Know before you go: the staircase and the Ribbon Playscape are closed until the first quarter of 2029 for ICA's Woodlands Checkpoint works next door, which run Monday to Saturday, 8am to 7pm. The car park stays open with fewer lots. The butterfly and the pond loop are unaffected.

Why kids will love it: The rope butterfly is a proper climb, and the viewing tower gives a five-year-old a view they have earned. The pond loop is short enough for small legs. It is quieter than Admiralty Park and the better pick for a short after-school run.

4. Fu Shan Garden dinosaur playground

Fu Shan Garden dinosaur playground

Fu Shan Garden is a neighbourhood garden on Woodlands Street 81 with a dinosaur theme. Its concrete dinosaurs date from 1997. In January 2019 Playpoint added two new ones for Sembawang Town Council, built for climbing: a green stegosaurus and a yellow triceratops with a fireman's slide, plus balance boards. It is small and rarely crowded.

Why kids will love it: A dinosaur-obsessed four-year-old gets to climb a stegosaurus and come down a triceratops by the fireman's slide. The older sculptures have the rough charm of 1990s HDB playgrounds. Twenty minutes here fixes most afternoons.

Address: Woodlands Street 81, Singapore. Google Maps
Opening hours: Open access, daily.
Price: Free.
Nearest MRT: Woodlands (NS9/TE2), about 550 metres.

5. The Ant and the Grasshopper Playground, Woodlands Glen

Between Blocks 573B and 573C on Woodlands Drive 16 is one of the better themed HDB playgrounds in the north. Playpoint built it for HDB around a gigantic grasshopper, a pair of grass ants and a treehouse playground. The insects are a nod to the years when Woodlands was forest.

Why kids will love it: Climbing a giant grasshopper is the kind of thing children describe at dinner. The ants and the treehouse give a younger sibling their own corner while the older one climbs.

Opening hours: Open access, daily.
Price: Free.
Nearest MRT: Woodlands South (TE3), about 650 metres.

6. Woodlands Town Park East

Along Woodlands Street 13, a short walk north of the swimming complex, Woodlands Town Park East is 6.11 hectares of trails, gardens and open grass around a gentle 30-metre hill. There is no playground here. What there is: a summit small enough for a three-year-old to conquer and tall enough to feel like one, plus lawns for a picnic or a kite. Pair it with a morning swim next door.

Why kids will love it: "Climb the mountain" is a game that works at every age, and this mountain takes ten minutes. Bring a ball for the grass at the bottom.

Nearest MRT: Marsiling (NS8) or Woodlands (NS9/TE2), each about 750 metres.

Water play and swimming

7. Woodlands Swimming Complex

Woodlands Swimming Complex

Photo: Woodlands Swimming Complex, Jungle listing

An ActiveSG complex on Woodlands Street 13 with a competition pool, a teaching pool and a wading pool. There are no slides or wave machines, and that is the point. It is calm, cheap and rarely full on a weekday morning, which makes it the right place for a first swim or a SwimSafer lesson.

Entry for a Singaporean or PR child is 50 cents on a weekday and 60 cents at the weekend, under ActiveSG rates last updated on 25 August 2026. The complex closes every Thursday unless the Thursday is a public holiday.

Why kids will love it: The wading pool is shallow enough for toddlers to stand in. Older children get a full competition pool for laps. Nobody is queuing for a slide, so the whole visit is swimming. Read our 2026 guide to kids' swimming lessons in Singapore before you book a term.

Book on Jungle: Woodlands Swimming Complex. Browse swimming lessons for kids on Jungle.
Website: ActiveSG, Woodlands Swimming Complex
Address: 3 Woodlands Street 13, Singapore 738600. Google Maps
Opening hours: 8am to 9.30pm daily except Thursday, when it is closed all day unless it is a public holiday. Competition pool also opens 6.30am to 8am on Monday to Wednesday and Friday.
Price: Singaporeans and PRs: child $0.50 weekdays, $0.60 weekends and public holidays. Adult $1.00 weekdays, $1.30 weekends and public holidays. Standard rate: adult $1.30 weekdays, $1.70 weekends.
Nearest MRT: Marsiling (NS8), about 650 metres, or Woodlands (NS9/TE2), about 800 metres.

8. Causeway Point Dino Playground

Causeway Point Dino Playground

Photo: Causeway Point by LN9267, Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 4.0

On Level 7 of Causeway Point, next to Woodlands MRT, sits the Dino Playground, a free wet playground with slides, spring riders and trampolines. It is open to the public, not only to shoppers. The mall runs it in hourly sessions of 45 minutes of play and 15 minutes of changeover, with no extensions, capped at 80 children, for ages 12 and under.

It closes for maintenance on the second Monday of each month. In November that Monday is the Deepavali public holiday, so by the mall's own rule the closure moves to Tuesday 10 November. December's is Monday 14 December. It also shuts in bad weather.

Why kids will love it: Dinosaurs and water in the same place covers most of what a five-year-old wants from a Saturday. Forty-five minutes is about right before someone gets cold. The mall recommends a swimsuit, so bring one, plus a towel and a dry set of clothes for the train home.

View on Jungle: not yet listed.
Website: Causeway Point, Family
Address: Level 7, Causeway Point, 1 Woodlands Square, Singapore 738099. Google Maps
Opening hours: 10am to 9pm daily, in hourly sessions, subject to weather. Closed the second Monday of the month, or the following day if that Monday is a public holiday.
Price: Free. The mall lists no charge. Swimsuit recommended.
Nearest MRT: Woodlands (NS9/TE2), linked to the mall.

Indoor play and rainy-day options

9. Wan To Play Tropical Drift, Woodlands Civic Centre

Wan To Play runs seven themed indoor playgrounds in Singapore, and Tropical Drift on Level 4 of Woodlands Civic Centre is the one for the North. It is one of two branches that sell two-hour passes only, at $38.15 including GST. Tickets are sold at the counter, because online sales are unavailable. A 10-hour package, $183.12, is valid for a year.

Why kids will love it: Two dry, air-conditioned hours on a wet Tuesday, in the same building as the library, so the afternoon can end with a book. Two hours is the right length for an under-eight. For more options across the island, see our guide to the best indoor playgrounds for kids in Singapore.

10. Woodlands Regional Library

Woodlands Regional Library

NLB now lists it as Woodlands Library, but everyone in the North still says Regional. It opened on 28 April 2001 inside Woodlands Civic Centre, over four storeys and part of a basement, 11,100 square metres in all.

The Children's Collection is on Level 4: about 150,000 fiction and non-fiction titles for ages 0 to 12, with a reading area designed as a park around an Enchanted Tree. Storytelling runs through the month. The library shares a building with Wan To Play and sits a short walk from the swimming complex, which makes a full wet-weather day easy to plan.

Why kids will love it: A children's floor built to look like a park, with a tree to read under. Level 4 is theirs. On a wet afternoon it is free, air-conditioned and open until 9pm.

View on Jungle: not yet listed.
Website: NLB, Woodlands Library
Address: 900 South Woodlands Drive, #01-03, Woodlands Civic Centre, Singapore 730900. Google Maps
Opening hours: 10am to 9pm daily, with self-service extended hours from 9am. Staff-assisted services start at 10am. Closed on public holidays, and at 5pm on the eves of Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year.
Price: Free.
Nearest MRT: Woodlands (NS9/TE2).

11. Woodlands Galaxy CC Observatory

Woodlands Galaxy Community Club has an observatory on Level 6 that opens to the public on Friday nights. onePA lists the sessions a month at a time: in October 2026 they run every Friday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, at $1 a ticket. November's sessions were not yet listed on 20 October.

Take the lift to Level 5, then follow the signs to the spiral staircase at the opposite end, which climbs to the observatory. Viewing depends on the weather, and there are no refunds if cloud rolls in. Book on onePA, which asks you to log in to see vacancies.

Why kids will love it: Looking through a telescope at the real night sky beats any screen. It is late enough to feel like a treat and short enough to be home by ten. Best for children six and up who can wait their turn in the dark.

Address: Level 6, Woodlands Galaxy CC, 31 Woodlands Avenue 6, Singapore 738991. Google Maps

A bigger adventure: horse riding

12. Horse riding at Bukit Timah Saddle Club, Kranji

Horse riding at Bukit Timah Saddle Club, Kranji

Photo: Bukit Timah Saddle Club, Jungle listing

Bukit Timah Saddle Club now operates from Stable Blocks 113 and 116 on Turf Club Avenue in Kranji, a ten-minute drive from Woodlands. The Singapore Turf Club Riding Centre next door ended all its equine offerings in December 2025, so this is the North's riding school. Lessons run Tuesday to Sunday, 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm.

For a first taste, the 20-minute Pony Ride on Sunday afternoons takes children from age 4 at $45. From age 6, the one-hour Beginners Experience is $145 semi-private or $170 private, under the club's rate card of 1 October 2026. Children who want more can join the Pony Club, which takes riders from age 5 across five terms a year and teaches stable management alongside riding.

Why kids will love it: Sitting on a pony is a rite of passage, and the Sunday ride is short enough for a four-year-old's attention span. The Pony Club is for the child who asks for a horse every birthday. Wear long trousers and closed shoes.

Book on Jungle: Bukit Timah Saddle Club
Website: BTSC, Programmes and Lessons
Address: 1 Turf Club Avenue, Stable Block 113 and 116, Singapore 738078. Google Maps
Opening hours: Lessons Tuesday to Sunday, 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm. Pony Rides Sundays 4pm to 5.20pm.

13. Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

Photo: Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, Jungle listing

Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is a 15-minute drive from Woodlands and free to enter. Start at the Visitor Centre on Kranji Way, where the Junior Wetland, a rehabilitated freshwater pond, lets children spot dragonflies, fish and the White-breasted Waterhen at close range. The mangrove boardwalk keeps feet dry, and the 18-metre Aerie Tower gives a view over the whole reserve. Monitor lizards are common, and estuarine crocodiles live here too, so obey the signs.

Every Saturday from 9.30am to 11am NParks runs a free guided walk for ages 5 and up, alternating between "What's in my mangrove?" and "What's in my water?". Register at the Information Counter in the Visitor Centre at least 15 minutes before; there are 15 places. Some paths close for a few hours at the highest tides, including 25 and 26 November and 24 to 28 December, so check the NParks notice before a late-year visit.

Why kids will love it: Monitor lizards, a tower to climb, and the real chance of a crocodile sighting from a safe distance. Go early. By 10am it is hot and the birds have gone quiet. Scooters, bicycles and pets are not allowed.

View on Jungle: Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Visitor Centre

Address: 60 Kranji Way, Singapore 739453. Google Maps
Opening hours: 7am to 7pm daily, last entry 6.30pm.
Price: Free, including the NParks guided walks. Parking free at the Visitor Centre and the Wetland Centre.
Getting there: From Kranji MRT (NS7), bus 925 from Monday to Saturday or 925M on Sundays and public holidays.

14. Kranji Marshes

Kranji Marshes

Photo: Kranji Marshes, Jungle listing

Kranji Marshes is 56.8 hectares of freshwater marsh on the edge of Kranji Reservoir, of which 8 hectares are open to the public without a guide. The walk from the Kranji Gate car park to the 15-metre Raptor Tower takes about 15 minutes on flat paths, and the tower is the reward: a view over the marsh and reservoir where raptors and herons hunt.

There are hideout shelters and bird blinds along the way for children who can keep still for two minutes. The paths are wheelchair accessible, but the tower is steps only, so it is not for prams. No pets.

Why kids will love it: A tower to climb and a hide to sit in, which turns birdwatching into a stakeout. Bring binoculars if you have them. Pair it with Sungei Buloh for a full nature morning.

View on Jungle: Kranji Marshes
Website: NParks, Kranji Marshes
Address: 11 Neo Tiew Lane 2, Singapore 718814. Google Maps
Opening hours: 7am to 7pm daily.
Price: Free. Parking free, 20 car lots at Kranji Gate.
Nearest MRT: Kranji (NS7), then a short taxi ride.

15. Mandai Wildlife Reserve

Mandai Wildlife Reserve

Photo: Singapore Zoo, Jungle listing

Ten minutes by car from Woodlands, Mandai Lake Road holds five wildlife parks: Singapore Zoo, Bird Paradise, Rainforest Wild Adventure, River Wonders and Night Safari. They are covered everywhere, so they get one entry here.

The Zoo is the default for under-eights because of KidzWorld and its Splish Splash wet play, and the in-park tram is included in the ticket. Bird Paradise has eight walk-through aviaries. Rainforest Wild Adventure, the newest, now runs across two zones and is built for older children who want to climb.

Residents pay less with a free WildPass account: a Zoo ticket is $39 for an adult and $27 for a child aged 3 to 12 on regular days. The $118 six-attraction pass is sold to non-residents only. Several exhibits close for works this season, the Zoo's African penguins among them until 30 November, so check Mandai's announcements first.

Why kids will love it: Everything. That is why the queues exist. Go on a weekday, arrive at 8.30am for the Zoo, and leave before the 1pm heat.

Getting there: Khatib MRT (NS14) Exit A, then the M2 Khatib Bus, daily 8.30am to midnight. $2.50 for adults and children aged 7 to 12, free under 7.

16. Marsiling Mall Hawker Centre

Marsiling Mall Hawker Centre

Every entry above ends with a hungry child. Marsiling Mall Hawker Centre, at 4 Woodlands Street 12 next to Woodlands Sports Centre, opened in 2017 to replace the old hawker centre at Block 4A Woodlands Centre Road. NEA manages it, and it has 70 cooked-food stalls, which means the fussy eater and the adventurous one both get fed.

Stalls set their own hours, so check that yours is open before you plan breakfast around it. The centre closes for cleaning from 7 to 9 December 2026.

Why kids will love it: Choosing their own stall. Food in ten minutes. A dessert stall for negotiations.

View on Jungle: not yet listed.
Website: NEA, hawker centre management
Address: 4 Woodlands Street 12, Singapore 738623. Google Maps
Opening hours: Set by each stall. NEA does not publish a single opening time for the centre. Closed for cleaning 7 to 9 December 2026.
Price: Free to enter. Each stall sets its own prices.
Nearest MRT: Marsiling (NS8), about 650 metres.
