One of the best-known farms in Singapore may have about nine weeks left. In May 2026 the Government said that three Lim Chu Kang farm tenancies ending in December 2026 and March 2027 will not be renewed, and news reports name Bollywood Farms in Kranji as one ending in December.
Jurong Frog Farm has already closed to the public for good. The Sundowner has left its Siglap rooftop. Several farm lists online still carry them as they were.
This guide covers the farms in Singapore you can still walk into or book with children: the Kranji and Lim Chu Kang countryside, Sungei Tengah near Choa Chu Kang, Mandai, the urban farms in the city and the west, and the little there is in the east. That is 13 places. Each was checked against the operator's own website, booking system or official social page on 30 October 2026.
Two facts decide most farm trips. First, opening days: Hay Dairies shuts every Tuesday, Bollywood Farms keeps Mondays and Tuesdays for private events, and the Saddle Club's pony rides run on Sunday afternoons only. Second, transport: the Kranji farms need a car or a taxi. Qian Hu, in Sungei Tengah, is the only farm with a free shuttle bus, from Choa Chu Kang MRT.
Two of the 13 cost nothing to walk into, Hay Dairies and Qian Hu, and you pay only for goat hay or a fishing net. The rest charge for a ticket, a tour or a session, and several take bookings only. Each entry below gives the price, the days, the ages it suits and the catch. The table at the end puts all 13 side by side.
If you are planning the whole day in the north-west, our Kranji, Lim Chu Kang and Tengah guide covers the parks and wetlands around the farms.
This is Singapore's farm belt, and it is shrinking. The farms are spread along Neo Tiew Road and Neo Tiew Crescent, several kilometres from Kranji MRT, with no shuttle. The Kranji Express bus stopped in January 2021, and on 30 October 2026 the Kranji Countryside Association's own Getting Here page carries no shuttle timetable, only an email address. Plan on a car or a taxi.
On Sundays and public holidays, bus 925M stops at the Sungei Buloh Wetland Centre entrance, across the road from Hay Dairies. Hay Dairies lists no other bus, and Bollywood Farms says it has no public transport at all. Gardenasia on Neo Tiew Crescent no longer takes walk-ins: its bistro ended daily service on 16 February 2026, and its children's programmes and farmstay villas are by booking only.

Feeding the goats at Hay Dairies. Photo: Hay Dairies, Jungle listing
Hay Dairies says it has been Singapore's only goat farm since 1988, and it keeps more than 800 goats at 250 Neo Tiew Crescent. The hour to plan around is the milking, which visitors can watch from 9am to 10.30am. The goats queue for it, each walking to its own place in the milking parlour. After 10.30am you see goats resting in their barns, which is pleasant but quieter.
Four rules catch families out. The farm is closed every Tuesday except public holidays. Groups of ten or more must book ahead and pay, or they are turned away. There is no car park at the farm. And the farm asks that visitors have not been to any cow farm in the month before they come, for hygiene reasons.
Why kids will love it: A $6 packet of alfalfa hay brings a row of goats pushing their heads through the rails, and children who are wary of dogs will happily feed a goat. Visitors cannot milk the goats, but they can pet them at the viewing trail. Buy hay before 3pm, when sales stop. On weekends, the farm says 9.30am to 11am is the busiest window.

Opening hours: 9am to 4pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Closed every Tuesday except public holidays. Milking viewable 9am to 10.30am.
Price: Free to walk in for groups under ten, no booking needed. Alfalfa hay $6 a packet, sold until 3pm. Groups of ten or more book an educational tour: $21.36 a person in the morning or $17.54 in the afternoon, including GST and bottle deposit.
Getting there: 4.1km from Kranji (NS7). Drive and park at the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve car park on Neo Tiew Crescent, then walk in through the farm's pedestrian gate. On Sundays and public holidays, bus 925M stops at the Wetland Centre entrance across the road.
Ages: All ages. The farm's own group tours plan for children from 18 months.
Bollywood Farms, at 100 Neo Tiew Road, is the farm Ivy Singh-Lim and Lim Ho Seng started in 2000 as Bollywood Veggies. It grows edible and ornamental plants, vegetables and fruit, keeps a small museum and a culinary school, and runs Poison Ivy Bistro on site, cooking with chemical-free produce from the farm.
In May 2026 the Government said the three Lim Chu Kang farm tenancies that end in December 2026 and March 2027 will not be renewed, and news reports name Bollywood Farms as one of them. On 30 October 2026 the farm's own website and Instagram still show normal hours and announce no last day. If you have always meant to go, go in November.
Why kids will love it: Vegetables and fruit growing in the ground, which for many city children is a first. The farm's group sessions include Little Green Fingers, where each child pots a plant to take home, and Padi Planting, which needs a month's notice. A family can simply come at 7am on a Saturday, walk the farm while it is cool, then eat at the bistro.

Getting there: The farm says there is no public transport. Take the MRT to Kranji (NS7), about 5km away, then a taxi or Grab.
Ages: 3 and up.

Bukit Timah Saddle Club at Kranji. Photo: Bukit Timah Saddle Club, Jungle listing
Bukit Timah Saddle Club runs its riding school from Stable Blocks 113 and 116 on Turf Club Avenue, near Kranji MRT. It is a working riding club, not a petting farm, but it offers the simplest way into the countryside's animals for a small child: a 20-minute pony trail ride on Sunday afternoons.
The catch is the timing. Pony rides run only on Sundays, 4pm to 5.20pm, and the club says registering does not confirm a booking, so wait for its reply before you set off. Children of six and up can book a one-hour Beginners Experience lesson instead, on any day from Tuesday to Sunday.
Why kids will love it: Sitting on a real pony and riding it along a trail, not round a ring, is the moment a four-year-old remembers. Twenty minutes is about right for that age. Wear long trousers and closed shoes. If you drive, the club asks you to search for "BTSC@Kranji" in Google Maps rather than the street address.

Price: Pony ride $45 for 20 minutes. Beginners Experience $145 semi-private or $170 private for one hour, from age 6. Prices updated 1 October 2026.
Nearest MRT: Kranji (NS7), about 500 metres.
Ages: 4 and up for pony rides.
Sungei Tengah is the easier half of the farm belt. It sits 2km to 3km from Choa Chu Kang MRT, it has a free shuttle bus to one farm and a public bus to the other, and both places below have shade or a roof. If you have one free morning and no car, start here.

The longkang fishing channel at Qian Hu. Photo: Qian Hu Fish Farm, Jungle listing
Qian Hu is a working ornamental fish business at 71 Jalan Lekar that lets the public walk through it during shop hours, seven days a week. The retail halls hold tank after tank of aquarium fish. Outside is the reason families come: a longkang fishing channel, where children scoop small fish out of shallow water with a net, as an earlier generation did in real monsoon drains.
It is the easiest of the countryside farms to reach without a car. Qian Hu runs a free shuttle bus from Choa Chu Kang MRT every hour. The longkang area is only partly sheltered, so heavy rain stops the fishing, but the fish spa next to it is fully covered.
Why kids will love it: Half an hour with a net in a channel of fish, and what they catch goes home in a plastic tank. It is the rare outing where the souvenir is alive, so have a plan for the fish before you go. Bring a change of clothes. In the fish spa, small fish nibble at your feet, and children pay half the adult price.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday and eves of public holidays 9am to 6pm, last transaction 5.45pm. Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 9am to 7pm, last transaction 6.45pm.
Price: Free to walk in, free parking. Longkang fishing $8 a person for 30 minutes or $13 for 60 minutes, tank and net included. Fish spa $5 a child and $10 an adult for 30 minutes.
Getting there: Free shuttle bus from Choa Chu Kang (NS4/BP1) Exit C, Bus Bay 1, hourly from 9am, last bus to the farm at 5pm, last bus back at 7pm. By car, 2.5km from the station.
Ages: 3 and up for longkang fishing.
Nature Kindred runs a family activity space inside World Farm, a wholesale plant nursery at 65 Sungei Tengah Road, a few minutes' drive from Qian Hu. Everything is booked by the session and almost everything is under a roof: an indoor fishing pond with child-friendly seating and fans, and an air-conditioned craft room for terrarium planting, potting succulents and fossil digging. There is a restaurant on site, and chickens wander the nursery.
There are no walk-in hours. You choose a time slot in Nature Kindred's booking system, and up to two adults may accompany each child under 7. Dig Dig Land, the excavator playground the same company runs, is not here: it is at Jurong Playground, opposite IMM.
Why kids will love it: Fishing at a shaded pond, sitting down, with a fan, suits a three-year-old who would wilt at an outdoor farm. Children catch as many fish as they can, take up to eight home, and trade the rest for points towards a toy. The fossil dig ends with something to chip out and keep.

Price: Fishing $20 for 60 minutes, or $38 with a mini fish tank to set up and take home. Fossil digging $18. Planting $38. Terrarium $48. Bundles of two or three activities $65 to $90 a child, with up to two adults free.
Getting there: 2km from Choa Chu Kang (NS4/BP1). Bus 975 from Choa Chu Kang, alight opposite Chengtai Nursery and walk about 10 minutes towards the SPCA. Free parking on site.
Ages: 18 months to 13 for fishing. 3 and up for terrarium and fossil digging.
The zoo's children's area is open every day and reachable by a direct bus from Khatib MRT. North of it, one of Gallop Stable's three sites sits on Admiralty Road East near Sembawang.

The entrance to Singapore Zoo. Photo: Singapore Zoo, Jungle listing
KidzWorld is the children's area inside Singapore Zoo, and its Animal Land is the closest thing in Singapore to a petting farm that opens every day. Mandai describes it as a free-ranging area where children may meet goats, falabellas, which are miniature horses, and chickens. Little Paws next door is an indoor room of smaller animals.
The rest of KidzWorld is play: Splish Splash, a wet play maze, the Animal Buddies presentations and a Ranger Buddies quest that runs daily from 10am to 5pm. It comes with a zoo ticket, so it is not a cheap farm visit, but it is the one with the fewest catches.
Why kids will love it: Walking among goats and miniature horses without a fence in between, then cooling off in the water maze. Pack swimwear and a towel for Splish Splash. Weekday tickets cost less for residents, and the zoo opens at 8.30am, so an early weekday start beats both the crowds and the heat.

Opening hours: Daily 8.30am to 6pm, last entry 5pm.
Price: Zoo ticket, KidzWorld included. Local residents with a free WildPass: $39 an adult and $27 a child on weekdays, $44 and $30 on weekends and public holidays. Tourists pay more.
Getting there: Mandai's M2 Khatib Bus from Khatib (NS14), daily every 15 minutes, about 20 minutes. Or bus 138 from Ang Mo Kio (NS16) or Springleaf (TE4), or bus 927 from Choa Chu Kang (NS4).
Ages: 2 and up.
Gallop Stable began with 13 ponies in Pasir Ris Park in 2003 and now keeps more than 160 horses, most of them retired racehorses. One of its three stables is on Admiralty Road East, near Sembawang, and it takes walk-ins every day of the week. Its family programme, which it calls Jackuda, covers pony rides, trail rides, pony feeding, grooming and bunny feeding, though the site does not say which stable offers what.
The catch is that Gallop publishes no prices anywhere on its website, and its frequently asked questions page says only "coming soon". Telephone or WhatsApp before you go, and ask for the price of a pony ride and of feeding.
Why kids will love it: Feeding a pony from a flat palm, then brushing it, is a gentler first meeting than a ride, and it suits children who are not sure yet. Ask whether bunny feeding runs here, for the child who finds even a pony too big. Wear closed shoes, and come in the morning slot before the heat.

Getting there: 1.5km from Sembawang (NS11). Parking at St Helena Road.
Ages: All ages for feeding. Ask the stable about the minimum age for pony rides.
None of these is a countryside farm, and that is their advantage: each is within reach of an MRT station, and two of the three run whatever the weather. All three are booked by the session.

Greenhouses at City Sprouts Henderson. Photo: City Sprouts, Jungle listing
City Sprouts occupies the grounds of a former school at 102 Henderson Road, between Redhill and Tiong Bahru, and fills them with greenhouses, farm plots and small businesses that grow food. The grounds are open daily from 9am to 6pm. For families, the reason to come is Little Farm Explorers, which runs a 90-minute guided tour of six of the urban farm huts on the site.
Three of the six huts are fully sheltered and air-cooled, and guides hand out umbrellas for the walk between them. Tours are capped at 20 people, children under 12 need an adult with a ticket, and only infants under one go free.
Why kids will love it: Holding a silkie chicken, feeding worms to the hens and building a small aquaponics set to take home, all in an hour and a half. Little Farm Explorers says it suits children of 3 and up. Arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to register, because tours start on the dot.

Opening hours: City Sprouts grounds Monday to Sunday 9am to 6pm. Little Farm Explorers tours at the time slots shown in its booking calendar.
Price: Little Farm Explorers tour $21 a ticket on its current promotion, usually $25.
Nearest MRT: Redhill (EW18), about 600 metres, or Tiong Bahru (EW17), about 800 metres.
Ages: 3 and up.
WholeSnail calls itself Singapore's first commercial snail farm. It raises snails for escargot and skincare in a temperature-controlled unit on the ninth floor of Food Concept @ Pandan, an industrial building on Pandan Loop. Its public tour, the Snail Safari Experience, runs 60 minutes: an introduction to the snail's life cycle, a walk through the farm and its petting zone, and a craft session.
Tours are by appointment only, at fixed times on the booking page, with fewer than 15 people. Because the farm is indoors, tours run in any weather. Photography inside the farm itself is restricted, and the host takes a photo for you.
Why kids will love it: Holding a live snail and watching it glide across a palm, then painting a snail shell to take home. A snail is small and slow enough for a child who is nervous of bigger animals. Wear covered shoes. Adults need tickets too, because they join in rather than watch.

Price: $25 a person aged 3 and up, adults included. Under 3 free.

Ages: Best from 3. Toddlers welcome with a parent.
The Sundowner was a rooftop farm above a Siglap shophouse on East Coast Road until late 2025, when it moved to the old Bukit Timah Fire Station on Upper Bukit Timah Road. It keeps rescued honeybees and chickens, and the new centre is all-weather. Every session is prepaid and booked: there are no walk-ins, and everyone who enters pays, including adults who only watch.
The family session is Bees! Ants! Worms!, every Saturday afternoon. Children put on a bee suit and hand-feed pollen to the bees, watch ant colonies through a macro lens and hunt for earthworms in the garden bed.
Why kids will love it: A child-sized bee suit and live honeybees close enough to feed, then earthworms held in a bare palm. The join-in session needs four people to run, so book early in the week. Children aged 6 and under need a full-paying adult, one adult to five children.

Opening hours: Bees! Ants! Worms! every Saturday 4.30pm to 6pm. Rooftop Farm Experience every Saturday 5pm to 7pm. Private sessions on other days by arrangement. No walk-ins.
Price: Bees! Ants! Worms! $65 a child aged 3 to 12 and $85 an adult. Rooftop Farm Experience $85 a child and $115 an adult. Private sessions from $255 for two.
Nearest MRT: Hume (DT4), about 600 metres.
Ages: 3 to 12 for Bees! Ants! Worms!. The centre says most of its other activities suit children of 6 and up.
Say it plainly: there is no working farm in the east that a family can walk into. What the east has is horses, and one farmstay. Gallop Stable runs two sites within a kilometre of Pasir Ris MRT, and House of Melissa in Changi Village keeps chickens and bees for booked sessions. For the rest of a day out, our Pasir Ris and Simei guide and Downtown East guide pick up from here.
This is where Gallop Stable began, with 13 ponies in 2003, and it still sits beside Car Park C in Pasir Ris Park. It is the most park-like of Gallop's three sites: you can pair a pony ride with a morning in Pasir Ris Park. The family programme covers pony rides, trail rides, pony feeding and grooming.
Two catches. The stable lists no Monday hours, and its weekday mornings are short, 10am to 11.30am. And like every Gallop site, it publishes no prices online, so ask when you call.
Why kids will love it: Ponies in a park, not behind a mall, with the rest of Pasir Ris Park around them for the sibling who would rather run. Come at 8am on a weekend, before the sun is high. Wear closed shoes and long trousers if a ride is likely.

Price: Gallop Stable does not publish its fees online. Contact them for current prices. Telephone 6583 9665.
Nearest MRT: Pasir Ris (EW1), about 700 metres.
Ages: All ages for feeding. Ask the stable about the minimum age for pony rides.
Gallop's Downtown East stable is at 1 Pasir Ris Close, by D'Resort, which makes it the one to combine with a day at Downtown East. It opens every day, with a midday break, and it is a kilometre from Pasir Ris MRT. Parking is at D'Resort.
As at the other two sites, the family activities are pony rides, feeding and grooming, and the prices are not published. Ask about a pony ride and feeding when you call, and check the weather, because the activities are outdoors.
Why kids will love it: Meeting a horse and then spending the rest of the day at Downtown East next door. For a child who is unsure about horses, ask to feed and groom first and decide on a ride afterwards. The afternoon session reopens at 2pm, so a late lunch at Downtown East fits around it.

House of Melissa is a restored seafront chalet at 344 Netheravon Road in Changi Village, run as a boutique farmstay by the team behind The Sundowner. It has more than 10,000 square feet of land with a food forest, a vegetable and herb garden, honeybees and free-roaming chickens. It is the nearest thing to a farm visit in the east.
It is private bookings only. Its Sunday public farm tour is discontinued until further notice. What a family can book is a private session, the most child-friendly being Rear a Chicken, in which you watch the free-roaming hens and learn how they are kept.
Why kids will love it: Chickens wandering loose around a garden by the sea, close enough to crouch down and watch. It works best as part of a birthday or a family stay rather than a drop-in, and the rest of Changi Village is on the doorstep for lunch.
