The Best Value Drop-In Activities For Kids In Singapore: What A Single Session Really Costs

24 August 2026 · 12 min read

TL;DR – The Quick Version

The advertised price is rarely what you pay. Whether the accompanying adult needs a ticket swings the real cost of a session from nothing to double, and at two venues it is decided by your child's height rather than their age. The cheapest verified activity in Singapore is a 50-cent swim. The most expensive surprise is a $27.90 adult ticket you did not know you needed.
Every price below was read on the provider's own website, never on a listing site. Last verified 24 August 2026.

Drop-in is the only honest way to try an activity. No term, no block of eight weeks, no direct debit. You turn up, you pay for that session, and if your child hates it you never go back.

The catch is that comparing drop-in prices is close to impossible, because the number on the website is frequently not the number at the till. This guide fixes that.

The Hidden Cost: Does The Adult Need A Ticket?

This single question changes the cost of an outing more than any discount will. We checked it at every venue we could verify, and the answers range from free to full price.

VenueChild or headline priceWhat the adult pays
Amped Trampoline Park$19.90 per hour weekdayFree. "There is no charge to the parent"
KiztopiaNot published by providerFree. "Each ticket admits 1 Participant and 1 Adult"
Tayo Station$27.90 off-peak1 adult included, each extra adult $8
Kidztropic$25 Tuesday to FridayTwo adults included per child
Pirate Land$31.90 (age 2+)1 adult included, second adult $12
The Artground$8 per person weekday$10 at weekends
Ground Up Climbing$17 youth$10 supervising adult
Airzone$27.90Full $27.90 if your child is under 115cm
SuperPark$37.90 peak 2-hour sessionFull price. "Kids under 120cm... the adult fee applies"
T-Play, HomeTeamNS$30 off-peak, $35 peak1 adult included, extra adults pay full price
Two venues price the adult by height, not age. At Airzone a supervising adult needs a separate full-price ticket if the child is under 115cm or under 5. At SuperPark the threshold is 120cm. Cross that line and the adult ticket disappears.

In practice that means an Airzone session with a four-year-old costs $55.80. The same session with a 116cm six-year-old costs $27.90. Same venue, same hour, half the price.

The Cheapest Verified Activities In Singapore

Nothing on this list is a promotion or a limited offer. These are standing prices.

ActiveSG swimming, adult$1.00Weekday. $1.30 weekends

National Gallery SingaporeFree for citizens and PRsIncludes the Keppel Centre for Art Education
ActiveSG gym, student$1.50Per visit
ActiveSG badminton court$3.50 per hourNon-peak, per court, not per person

ActiveSG is the outlier nobody writes about. A child swims for 50 cents. A family of four swims for $3.00 on a weekday. Nothing in the commercial sector comes close, and the pools with water play features cost 30 cents more.

One trap. Singapore Art Museum charges citizens and PRs $15, unlike National Gallery which is free. The two are often lumped together in guides. They are not the same.

Best for families who want a repeatable weekly outing rather than a one-off treat.

The Artground$8 per person$12 child, $10 adultTimed slots, Holland Village

T-Play, member$12$12Membership is $21.80 for two years
SuperPark day pass$33.90$46.90Under 100cm pay half. Under 1 free

The Artground at $8 is less than a third of the price of most of this list, and on weekdays that $8 covers everybody including babies in arms. Grip socks are mandatory there at $3 a pair.

T-Play is the widest member gap in Singapore. A non-member pays $30 to $35. A member pays $12 at any time, and HomeTeamNS membership costs $21.80 for two years on child nomination. The membership pays for itself on the first visit.

Pirate Land is worth a note in the other direction: its weekday ticket is unlimited play, so a long rainy Tuesday makes the $31.90 the best value on the table rather than the worst.

Climbing And Bouldering

The cheapest structured physical activity in Singapore once you get past ActiveSG, and almost all of it is genuinely drop-in.

GymSingle entryOff-peakWorth knowing
Kinetics Climbing$23$16.50$5 one-time registration. Farrer Park Exit G
Ground Up, youth$17$12Supervising adult $10. Max 2 children per adult

Climb Central$44.70 adult and 1 childNo off-peak rate. Returning adult and child $37.10, gear extraFirst visit rate, includes gear. GST included

Climb Central publishes the clearest gate in the sector: 4 years old by actual date of birth, at least 1m tall and 16kg. One adult may supervise a maximum of two children. It is also one of the very few operators in this entire guide that states its prices include GST.

Watch the extras. Kinetics charges a one-off $5 registration, Ground Up rents shoes at $5 and socks at $2, and Climb Central rents a shoes and harness set at $9.

Best for ages 5 and up. Below that, most walls are a supervised scramble rather than climbing.

Trampoline Parks

Grip socks are compulsory at both and are an unavoidable first-visit cost: $3 at Amped, $3.20 at BOUNCE. They are yours to keep, so it is a one-off rather than a per-visit charge.

Amped has relocated to 10 Raeburn Park near Outram Park. Several listing sites still publish its old Kim Yam Road address.

Art Jamming And Pottery

The most genuinely walk-in category in Singapore, and the one where the adult question is least clearly answered.

StudioPer personDurationAges and conditions
Heppi, ROOM TO DREAM$25 weekday, $29 weekend, for one adult and one child2 hoursIn-studio pottery painting has stopped. Each extra adult or child $15. Runs 2 October to 30 November 2026. Book ahead
Clay Clay Pottery$33, or $30 for four or moresee noteAges 3-12. Pottery $8 to $17. Students 20% off
Arteastiq$30 for one, $55 for two3 hoursOrchard Road. Canvas and paints included
Artify Studio$28 unguided, $38 guided2.5 hoursMinimum age 7. Under 10s need an adult who also paints
My Art Space$392.5 hoursAge 6 up. Under 12s need an adult. Dhoby Ghaut Exit C
Art Journey$39.901.5 to 2 hoursParents do not need to stay
TK Pottery Jungle$50, or $50 per pair2 hoursParent and child under 8 pay one $50 fee. No walk-ins

Only three studios answer the adult question for a painting session. Artify makes it explicit and expensive: a child under 10 needs an adult guardian "who is also painting in the same art jamming session", and there is no spectator rate. TK Pottery Jungle goes the other way, charging a parent and a child under 8 a single $50 between them.

My Art Space is the strictest: an adult must accompany any child under 12, and the studio states there is no seat for anyone who is not painting, so that adult books and pays the full $39 as well.

Best for a rainy afternoon with one child. Most studios cap group sizes low.

What You Cannot Drop Into

A useful negative finding. Across every music, dance and drama provider we checked, not one sells a single session.

  • Sing'theatre Academy sells semesters only, from $609
  • Jitterbugs Swingapore prices by nine-week term, from $313.92
  • The Little Gym, Little Kickers and Julia Gabriel publish no single-session option at all
  • Aureus Academy sells monthly packages, from $279 for four 30-minute lessons, and Kindermusik routes you to an enquiry form rather than a price

What these providers offer instead is a trial, which is a different product: usually once-only, first-timers only, and time-limited. My Gym is explicit that its trial is "valid for first-time visitors and non-members only" and must be used "within 14 days". For those, see our separate guides to free trial classes and what trial classes cost.

The Extras That Are Never In The Headline Price

  • Grip socks. Mandatory at most indoor venues. $3 at Amped and The Artground, $3.20 at BOUNCE, $3.50 at Tayo Station. Kiztopia requires them but does not publish a price.
  • One-off registration. $5 at Kinetics Climbing, $10.90 at Climb Central for new climbers 13 and over.
  • Gear rental. Climbing shoes $5 to $6, harness $3 to $4.10, full set $9.
  • The ceramic itself. Pottery painting prices are studio fees only. The piece costs $8 to $17 on top at Clay Clay.
  • GST. Almost nobody states it. Only Climb Central, Airzone and ActiveSG confirmed their prices are GST inclusive. Assume the rest are not.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cheapest paid activity for a child in Singapore? An ActiveSG swim at 50 cents on a weekday for a Singaporean or PR child. Public skate parks and the two children's gardens are free.

Do I need to book a drop-in session? Increasingly yes. Clay Clay accepts walk-ins outright, Airzone and Tayo Station accept them subject to capacity, and TK Pottery Jungle refuses them entirely. ActiveSG pools and skate parks are genuine walk-ins.

Why does my child's height change the price? Because at Airzone and SuperPark the height threshold determines whether a supervising adult must buy a ticket. Under 115cm at Airzone and under 120cm at SuperPark, the adult pays.

Are drop-in prices the same as trial prices? No. A drop-in is repeatable. A trial is usually once only and restricted to first-time visitors, and it often expires within a fortnight.

Which venues let a parent sit out? Amped states there is no charge for spectators, and Art Journey confirms parents do not need to stay. At Artify the adult must actively paint.

The pattern across every category is the same. The advertised price is a child's price, and whether it is also your price is the thing nobody puts on the poster. Ask that question before you travel and it will save you more than any promotion.
