myVillage has no kids' class inside it. Its directory lists 40 or so tenants, and not one of them teaches a child anything. The five places a Serangoon Gardens parent actually books are in the two-storey shophouses around the Circus, on Serangoon Garden Way and Lichfield Road, between 100 and 300 metres from the mall's door.
That is the whole trick to the estate. myVillage is the car park, the FairPrice Finest, the family room on Level 2 and the air-conditioned lunch. The classes, the indoor playground and the two hawker centres are outside, and you walk to them.
Nothing here is free except the walk. The nearest free playground is the rooftop one at NEX, a bus ride away, and we include it so you know what you are comparing. Little Bear's House charges $25 a session, the martial arts gyms charge by the month, and the baking studio's website had vanished on the day of writing.
This guide covers every kids' reason to go, place by place, with the unit, the hours and the price. Where a centre publishes no fee we say so rather than guess. For the rest of the estate and the two towns beside it, read our guide to things to do with kids in Hougang, Kovan and Serangoon Gardens.
Quick steer
There is no play area inside myVillage, free or paid, and no kiddy rides or toy shop in its directory. We start with the one free thing inside the mall, then the indoor playground across the Circus, then the nearest free playground and court.
The one free thing for a child inside myVillage is the Mobile Library, a book-lending corner the mall runs as a community project with North East CDC. The mall's services page lists it as open daily from 10am to 10pm and gives no floor, so ask at the Level 2 concierge. It is a shelf, not a library branch, and it fills a wait for a table at Hajime rather than an afternoon.
Why kids will love it: Picking a book they did not have to pay for, then reading it over a Toast Box kaya toast downstairs. Best for ages 3 to 8. Check it is still there before you promise it; the mall's events page has not been updated since 2022.

Little Bear's House is a 2,500 square foot indoor playground in a shophouse at 21 Lichfield Road, a two-minute walk from myVillage across the Circus. It is built for babies and toddlers rather than a climbing crowd: developmental toys, train sets, doll houses, a play kitchen and puzzles, with a nursing room, a feeding area with high chairs and a guest pantry inside.
Entry is $25 a child on weekdays and $28 at weekends and public holidays for a two-hour session, for children over 9 months. Socks are compulsory and anti-slip ones cost $3.50 at the door. A 10-visit pass is $238, valid six months and shareable between siblings.
Why kids will love it: A toy kitchen with a full set of wooden food and nobody over four charging through it. Best for 1 to 3. Go on a weekday morning, when the $25 session is yours and the car park outside is empty.

The nearest free playground to Serangoon Gardens is on the roof of NEX, Level 4R, above Serangoon MRT. It is a pirate-ship water playground with bucket splashes, fountains and sprays, a changing room beside the gate, and a separate dry playground with slides and swings. Little Day Out's February 2025 visit had it open 11am to 7pm and free.
Why kids will love it: Getting soaked under the tipping bucket, then drying off on the ship's slides. Best for ages 2 to 8. Bring a towel and a change of clothes; the changing room is small and busy after 3pm.

Nearest MRT: Serangoon (NE12/CC13), direct access.
Burghley Tennis Centre at 43 Burghley Drive is the ActiveSG court on the north side of the estate, a ten-minute walk from the Circus. A court is $3.50 an hour off-peak and $9.50 peak for citizens and permanent residents, which makes it the cheapest hour of organised movement in Serangoon Gardens. Book through the ActiveSG app; the weekend evening slots go first.
Why kids will love it: A whole court to themselves and a bucket of balls to hit at a parent. Best for ages 6 to 12. Go at 7am or after 7pm; the courts have no roof.

The small things inside myVillage that matter to a parent are groceries, not play. FairPrice Finest fills most of Basement 1 at #B1-11 to 14, Little Farms Grocer is at #01-12 to 15, and Duke Bakery at #B1-21/22 sells the bun that gets a four-year-old through a trolley lap. There is no toy shop, no kids' hairdresser and no paediatric clinic in the building.
None of the five kids' venues on Jungle is inside myVillage. All five are in the shophouses on Serangoon Garden Way and Lichfield Road around the Circus, and four are classes: taekwondo, boxing, Muay Thai and baking. Three publish a trial price and one offers it free.

Photo: Kickmatics Taekwondo, Jungle listing
Kickmatics is the taekwondo school at 68A Serangoon Garden Way, one of three branches with Northshore Plaza and Canberra Plaza. Classes are banded by age: Juniors 4 to 5, Tweens 6 to 12, Teens 13 to 17, plus adults and a family class. The dojang opens afternoons on weekdays and 9am to 6pm at weekends.
The trial is a $20 private 30-minute session with a full-time coach, and the fee is waived if you enrol straight after. Term fees are not on the site.
Why kids will love it: Breaking a board on the first day, in a studio with a pink mat and their name on the wall by the third month. Best for ages 4 to 10 who need to kick something before they can sit still.

Photo: Spartans Boxing Club, Jungle listing
Spartans Boxing Club at 56A Serangoon Garden Way is one of 11 Spartans gyms in Singapore, and the only one in the estate that will take a four-year-old. The Spartans Warrior programme runs from 4 to 12, with a youth stream from 13 to 21, and the kids' classes are no-contact: footwork, pad work and body awareness, designed with early childhood educators. The gym is open 7.15am to 10pm on weekdays.
The first class is free, booked through the Spartans app, and loaner gloves are provided. Under-12 packages exist but the prices sit behind the members' portal.
Why kids will love it: Hitting a pad as hard as they can and being told to do it again. Best for ages 5 to 10. Bring a water bottle and a change of clothes; the hand wraps are sold at the desk.

Photo: Kai Muay Thai SG, Jungle listing
Kai Muay Thai is the family-run gym at 70A Serangoon Garden Way, two doors from Kickmatics, and it is the one with real prices. The Art of 8's June 2026 cost survey lists it at $38 for a two-session trial valid seven days, $180 a month for four sessions and $260 a month unlimited on a 12-month term, with student rates for children. Training is by appointment, so message before you turn up.
Jungle lists the kids' programme for 13 to 18. The gym's own directories say children's classes start younger, so ask about your child's age when you book the trial.
Why kids will love it: Kicking a Thai pad held by a coach who shouts "again" in two languages. Best for ages 8 to 16. The weekday 7.30am slot is the empty one.

Photo: Little Bakers Lab, Jungle listing
Little Bakers Lab at 79A Serangoon Garden Way is a baking studio that runs hands-on workshops for children and adults, with a child-sized bench and a repertoire of more than 20 recipes from butter cookies and egg tarts to croissants and mochi. Jungle lists it for ages 6 to 12, open Tuesday to Sunday from 8.30am and closed Mondays.
One warning. The studio's website would not load on 2 October 2026 and the domain no longer resolves. The last published price we found was $158 per workshop in Eatbook's July 2023 review. Confirm on WhatsApp before you book.
Why kids will love it: Taking home a box of something they piped themselves. Best for ages 6 to 10. Book a weekend morning slot; afternoons are mostly adult classes.

Other kids' tenants have come and gone around the Circus. Babyment lists an art school at 14C Kensington Park Road and Sassy Mama's 2014 guide named one at 87A Serangoon Garden Way, but neither has a working website in 2026, so we have left them out rather than send you to an empty unit.
Book a trial before you commit to a term; our guide to free trial classes for kids in Singapore explains what to ask. Browse myVillage classes on Jungle.
myVillage has no food court and, as far as we could confirm, no restaurant with a kids' menu. The two hawker centres on the Circus do the job instead, and we found no kids-eat-free deal anywhere on the estate.
Serangoon Garden Market at 49A Serangoon Garden Way is the daytime hawker centre, 100 metres from myVillage past the Circus, with a wet market in front. It opens 6am to 10pm, but the stalls set their own hours and most close on Mondays and run out by 2pm. The child-safe orders are Fong Kee's handmade dumplings at #01-12, Ah Tas Muffins at #01-28 and the old-school buns at Serangoon Garden Bakery at #01-46.
It is closed for spring cleaning on 5 and 6 October 2026. The car park fills before noon at weekends and the exit queues onto Serangoon Garden Way.
Why kids will love it: A muffin for breakfast and a plate of dumplings they can eat with their fingers. Best for any age that can sit on a bench. Come before 10am on Saturday; it is pleasant then and loud by 11.

Chomp Chomp at 20 Kensington Park Road is the evening hawker centre on the far side of the Circus, 36 stalls under a roof rebuilt in 2004, open since 1972. It is known for satay, hokkien mee and barbecued chicken wings, and for the sugar cane juice served in a jug. Most stalls open in the late afternoon, so it is a dinner, not a lunch. Our September 2026 district guide had it trading normally.
Why kids will love it: Satay on a stick and a jug of sugar cane juice bigger than their head. Best for ages 4 and up who can wait 20 minutes for a wing. Arrive at 5.30pm; by 7pm there are no tables.

myVillage sits on Maju Avenue at the top of Serangoon Garden Circus, and no MRT station is within a comfortable walk with a pushchair.
Everything a parent pairs with myVillage is on the Circus or one bus ride away.
