The cheapest water playground in the east is on the roof of a hawker centre. Level 6 of Our Tampines Hub holds a garden-themed splash pool with fountains, water guns and a tipping bucket, and ActiveSG charges 80 cents for a child on a weekday. Most parents in Tampines walk past the lifts to it on the way to the food.
That is the pattern with the whole building. Our Tampines Hub opened on 6 August 2017 as the country's first integrated community hub: 5.7 hectares with a 5,000-seat stadium, a regional library, a hawker centre, a community club, six pools and government service counters. The retail wrapped around it is called Festive Mall. Nobody thinks of it as a kids' mall.
It has more free play than Tampines Mall, Century Square and Tampines 1 put together, and the People's Association directory lists 19 education and enrichment tenants, most of them in the basement, with a gymnastics club, an art school, a music school and a ballet school within a minute of each other. There are catches. The free playgrounds are for the under-eights.
The building is seven floors with three car park entrances and lettered lifts, so a first visit with a stroller involves a map. The indoor playground is inside the library, so a toddler walks past 400,000 books to reach a slide. Where a centre publishes no fee we say so rather than guess. For the rest of the town, read our guide to things to do with kids in Tampines.
Quick steer
The free indoor play area is in the basement of Festive Mall, near the NTUC FairPrice at #B1-01 and the enrichment units. It is a slide and a climbing structure on soft rubber flooring, with no gate, no booking and no ticket, sized for ages 1 to 8. It is small, and on a wet Saturday afternoon it is full. It is also the only free indoor play in Tampines that is not a pop-up.
Why kids will love it: A slide they can go down 20 times while a parent stands two metres away with the groceries. Best for ages 1 to 5. Come on a weekday morning before the basement tuition centres open at 2pm, when you will have it to yourselves.

The better free playground is outdoors on the Level 2 Sky Terrace, reached by the escalator or lifts beside the hawker centre; it is on your right as you leave the lifts. It is sheltered, which matters at 3pm in Tampines, and it was built as an inclusive playground: a padded floor, a toddler slide, a trampoline, spinner structures, giant fruit sculptures, old-fashioned garden swings and a wheelchair swing.
Sassy Mama still lists it as open in its September 2026 round-up. There is a lot of seating for parents.
Why kids will love it: The spinners, and the trampoline that is sunk into the floor so nobody falls off it. Best for ages 2 to 7. Bring water; there are coolers at the hawker centre below, not up here.

Jolly Jungle on Level 3 of the library. Photo: Jolly Jungle Kids Indoor Playground at OTH, Jungle listing
Jolly Jungle at #03-02 is the paid indoor playground, and it is inside Tampines Regional Library: you enter the library on Level 2 and take the lift or escalator up one floor. The Jungle listing says lifts H or F are closest.
Inside are a three-lane LED slide and three shorter ones, a treehouse made of elastic bands, a ball pit with a banana boat, a sand pit filled with hinoki beads rather than sand, an obstacle climbing frame, a hamster wheel and two trampolines, all under full-length windows. It is for children 12 and under, and infants under 12 months enter free with a paying adult.
Prices are for one child and one adult together: $13 for an hour or $22 for two on weekdays, $15 and $25 at weekends and on the eve of public holidays, and $8 an hour for each extra adult. Payment is cashless only, and single-entry tickets are walk-in, first come first served. It closes on public holidays.
Why kids will love it: The LED slide, three abreast, then the banana boat in the ball pit. Best for ages 2 to 8; a ten-year-old will be done in 40 minutes. The toilets are a walk away in the library, so go before you pay.

Photo: Tampines ActiveSG Swimming Complex, Jungle listing
The ActiveSG swimming complex on Level 6 is the largest rooftop pool in Singapore, and the part that matters to a parent is the smallest: a 0.3 metre garden-themed water playground with mushroom, flower and tree structures, fountains, water guns, small slides and a tipping waterfall bucket, next to a 0.3 metre wading pool and a 0.9 metre jacuzzi. The 50-metre training pool and the 10-lane competition pool are further along.
ActiveSG lists Our Tampines Hub as a special-features complex, so entry is $1.50 for an adult and 80 cents for a child on weekdays, $2 and $1 at weekends and on public holidays. A MyActiveSwim pass is $10 a month for an adult and $5 for a child.
Two things to know. The whole complex closes every Tuesday, and the competition pool is shut from 16 to 30 September 2026 for upgrading, which does not affect the children's pools.
Why kids will love it: Standing under the bucket and waiting for it to tip. Best for ages 1 to 8. Go on a weekday morning after 8am; the weekend afternoons are the busiest pool in the east. Bring a swim nappy for the under-threes.

Photo: Sonic Bowl, Jungle listing
Sonic Bowl at #B1-50 is the basement bowling alley, with pool tables, darts and foosball beside the lanes. It is the only Sonic Bowl not inside a SAFRA club, so SAFRA and HomeTeamNS rates do not apply here and an NSman pays the public price.
In September 2026 that is $6 a game off-peak, which is weekdays 11am to 6pm, and $7 a game at peak, which is weekday evenings, weekends and public holidays. Shoes are $2, socks $2, and students aged 21 and under pay $4 a game with a card. Cosmic Bowl, with the lights off, runs from 9pm on Saturdays and the eve of public holidays.
Why kids will love it: The ball coming back up the return by itself, and a strike on the screen with their name on it. Best for ages 5 and up who can lift a six-pound ball. Ask for the bumpers at the counter; we could not confirm the alley advertises them, so check before you pay for a lane.

Outside those sessions, children aged 5 to 12 can climb on an ordinary day pass only with an adult at a ratio of one adult to two children.
The adult day pass at Tampines is $23.98, and a youth pass for 18 and under is $17.44 on weekday off-peak hours in the school holidays. Rental shoes are $5.45 and socks $2.18.
Why kids will love it: A wall with coloured holds and a rope, and a coach who lets them fall on purpose. Best for ages 5 to 10. Book the weekend Playzone online; walk-ins with a child under 5 will be turned away.

The People's Association directory lists 19 enrichment tenants. The eight on Jungle come first, then the unlisted. Most are in Basement 1 between FairPrice and the Tampines Walk car park entrance; art and music are on Level 2 by the library. Three offer a free trial, one publishes every fee.

Photo: Tumble Joy Gymnastics at Our Tampines Hub, Jungle listing
Tumble Joy at #B1-11/12 is a gymnastics club, not a play gym, and it is the one centre in the building that publishes all its prices. Parent and Baby for ages 2 to 4 is a $56 trial and $594 a term. Funfit, the recreational programme from age 3.5 to 14, is a $43 to $48 trial and $517 a term.

Students start at 3. Dancepointe's own trial is $20, booked through its site. Term fees are not published. It is the cheaper, less formal alternative to the ballet school two floors down.
Why kids will love it: K-pop choreography in a CC hall with a mirror wall. Best for ages 4 to 10. Ask which syllabus the Tampines ballet class follows before you assume it is RAD.

The hawker centre has around 40 stalls; the April 2026 directory lists 50-plus other food tenants. None publishes a kids' menu or a kids-eat-free deal, so the children's meal is the Happy Meal. There is no other food court, and no Swensen's, PUTIEN, Din Tai Fung, Pizza Hut or KFC.
The hawker centre at #01-31 to #01-73 is where most families eat, and it is the reason the Sky Terrace playground is a good idea: one floor up by escalator. It is run by Kopitiam, with around 800 seats and stalls from chicken rice to Thai and pancakes; stall hours run from about 6am to 10pm and a handful of stalls trade through the night. McDonald's next door is the 24-hour option.
Why kids will love it: Munchi Pancakes at 8am, then the playground. Best for any age. Avoid 12pm to 1.30pm on weekdays, when the lunch crowd from the service centres arrives.
