Beauty World Centre is a 1984 strata mall with 160 shops, 30 hawker stalls and nowhere for a child to play. More Bukit Timah families walk through it every Saturday than any purpose-built kids' mall in the west. The reason is nine enrichment centres, from Cristofori's music school in the basement to a phonics school on the hawker floor, seven of them on Jungle with a booking link.
Be clear about what you are walking into. The mall was built by the URA to rehouse the traders from the old Beauty World market after three fires, sold to its own tenants in 1998, and it has been strata-titled and lightly maintained since. It looks its age.
There is no concierge, no family page, no stroller loan, and nobody could show us a nursing room. What it has is a car park that charges $1.30 an hour, a Downtown Line exit in front of the door, and a Level 4 hawker centre that a child will find more interesting than any food court.
So this is a classes post. If you want a playground, the Forest Exploration Trail at Rifle Range Nature Park is the nearest, free, with an entrance on Upper Bukit Timah Road. The wider district, from the nature reserve to the railway station, is covered in our guide to things to do with kids in Upper Bukit Timah and Beauty World. This one stays inside the building.
Quick steer
There is no play area at Beauty World Centre, free or paid, and there has not been one in years. The Funworld family entertainment centre that opened in 1993 appears in no 2026 directory. The floors are corridors of tuition centres, reflexology shops, maid agencies and provision shops, and the open atrium on Level 1 is a thoroughfare, not a place to sit.
If a child needs to run before a class, walk them to the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve entrance at Hindhede Drive, or take the lift to Level 4 and let them watch the stalls.
There is no kids' retail either. No toy shop, no children's bookshop and no kids' salon that we could confirm from a 2026 directory. There are no kiddy rides. What follows is the reason to come.
Nine enrichment centres trade in the building, on Basement 1, Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4. Seven are on Jungle and come first, in floor order from the basement up, with the two unlisted centres after. Two publish their fees. Three offer a free trial.

Photo: Cristofori Music School, Jungle listing
Cristofori at #B1-16/18/19 is the biggest music school in the building and the only one with a proper schedule of fees. It teaches piano, guitar, violin, drums, ukulele and theory, and it takes children from before school age through its I-Can-Play group course for ages 5 and below, in groups of two or three. From 5 up, lessons are one-to-one at 45 or 60 minutes.
Piano fees run $620 to $710 a term for 45 minutes off-peak and $820 to $940 for 60 minutes, rising by $30 to $40 in peak hours, before GST. Trial classes are booked through the site.
Why kids will love it: A drum kit and a guitar in the same corridor as the piano, so the child who refuses one instrument can be walked next door to another. Best for ages 5 to 10. Book an off-peak weekday slot; the Saturday morning ones are the expensive ones.

Photo: Let Colour Soar, Jungle listing
Let Colour Soar's Beauty World studio is at #02-08, one of five in Singapore and the only one in the west. Its Visual Art Children's Class takes ages 2.5 to 6, and the Professional Course from 7 up works through drawing, markers, watercolour, acrylic and oil in that order.
The studio's selling point is the portfolio work at the top end: a DSA programme for secondary school admission and tertiary portfolio preparation. Fees are not on the site. Trials are booked online.
Note the unit. Jungle's listing carries #B1-06, which is the studio's old address; the school's own site says #02-08 in September 2026.
Why kids will love it: Real acrylic on real canvas by age 7, not poster paint on sugar paper. Best for ages 4 to 10. The DSA track is for a 10-year-old who already draws every day.

Photo: Wing's Music Studio, Jungle listing
Wing's Music Studio at #02-19 is a small piano, violin and cello school near Exit A, with theory and aural training for exam candidates. It is the place in the building to try piano for nothing: the 30 minute trial lesson is free for piano, while violin and cello trials are charged.
The studio is open weekday afternoons and all weekend, and it warns on its site that the trial teacher may not be the one you get after enrolling. Fees are not published.
Jungle's listing has the studio at #03-10. The studio's own site gives #02-19, so use that.
Why kids will love it: A cello their own size, which is rare enough in a neighbourhood school to be worth the trip. Best for ages 5 to 12.

Photo: Yuquan Language School, Jungle listing
Yuquan at #02-27 is the Mandarin school, and it has been teaching since 1996. The Beauty World branch runs enrichment classes from age 2 to secondary school, one-to-one tutoring and holiday courses, and the same group runs a bilingual childcare centre in Mountbatten. Yuquan is the busiest Chinese centre in the building by review count, with 51 Google reviews at 4.8. Fees are by enquiry.
Why kids will love it: Mandarin taught as a language they will speak at the hawker centre upstairs, not a list of characters to copy. Best for ages 4 to 9, before the primary school gap opens.

Photo: The Art People, Jungle listing
The Art People at #03-K21 is a kiosk-sized art school on Level 3, one of 10 branches across the island, and the one in the building for a child who wants animation and game design rather than watercolour. Classes start at 3 and run to the teens, with holiday workshops and birthday parties. Opening days are short: Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, then Saturday and Sunday. Fees and trial prices are not published.
Why kids will love it: Designing a game character on Saturday and animating it the next week. Best for ages 6 to 12 who draw on everything already.

Photo: Write Edge, Jungle listing
Write Edge at #03-31 is the English and creative writing centre, one of more than 11 branches, and it is the other centre here that publishes every figure.
Lessons are two hours, 12 to a term: Primary 1 and 2 at $70 a lesson or $840 a term, Primary 3 and 4 at $80 or $960, Primary 5 and 6 at $85 or $1,020, and Secondary 1 to 4 at $95 or $1,140. Registration is $80 and the deposit $100, refundable. Materials are free. The branch opens Thursday to Sunday only.
Jungle's listing has the unit as #03-11. Write Edge's own locations page says #03-31.
Why kids will love it: Two hours is long for an eight-year-old, and the class knows it: writing here is built around stories, not model compositions. Best for ages 7 to 12 whose compositions come back with "elaborate" in the margin.

Photo: KyungHee Taekwondo, Jungle listing
KyungHee's Bukit Timah dojang is at #03-37, and it is the only physical class in the building. Tots aged 3 to 6 train Tuesday to Friday at 3pm and 4pm and on weekend mornings at 10am and 11am; Level 1 for 7 to 10 runs at 4pm and 6pm on weekdays and from 9am at weekends; older bands go up to 8pm. Mondays are adult and teen sessions only.
The trial lesson is free. Fees are not published, and none of the six taekwondo schools in Bukit Timah publish theirs, which is why we ranked them by everything else in our guide to taekwondo in Bukit Timah for kids.
Why kids will love it: Kicking a pad as hard as they like at 3pm on a Tuesday, and a belt to show for it by the end of term. Best for ages 4 to 10. Bring water and book the trial online first.

Harmony Piano Studio at #B1-08/09 is not on Jungle yet, and it is the basement's other piano school, two doors from Cristofori. It is an ABRSM school: an Individual Piano Course from age 4, a Kids Piano Group Course for 3 and 4-year-olds in 45 minute sessions, a Gifted Young Pianist course from 5 by audition, and Theory and Aural Training for Grades 1 to 8.
The studio also sells and rents pianos. Fees are not published, and its news page lists competition and recital dates through 2026, which tells you the kind of school it is.
Why kids will love it: A studio recital with a programme and their name on it. Best for ages 4 to 8 who are going to sit the grades.

Zoo-phonics at #04-10 is on the hawker floor, which makes it the one enrichment centre in Singapore you can reach by walking past a chendol stall. It teaches reading through the Zoo-phonics method, an animal-alphabet system with a body movement for every letter, in three programmes: Phonics and Reading, Prep P1 for K2 children, and Creative Writing for K2 to Primary 2. Fees are not on the site. It is not on Jungle.
Why kids will love it: Making the "s" snake shape with their arm and being told that is reading. Best for ages 4 to 6. Book the visit first; there is no walk-in trial.

Ages: 4 to 8.
The rest of the education floor is tuition. A July 2026 directory counts 17 tuition and enrichment centres in the building, and the names beyond the nine above are maths, science and Chinese tuition for primary to junior college: PlayFACTO School runs a student care centre on Level 2 with 7am to 7pm holiday hours, and there are two more Chinese specialists and a phonics-and-English centre on the same floor. None of them publishes a fee.
Three of the nine offer a free trial. For the island-wide list, read our guide to free trial classes for kids in Singapore. Browse Beauty World Centre classes on Jungle.
Nothing in the building publishes a kids' menu or a kids-eat-free deal, and there is no air-conditioned food court. For a child over four there is something better: a rooftop hawker centre with more than 80 stalls, and a McDonald's on Level 1 that opens at 6am.
Beauty World Food Centre is the mall's original 1984 hawker centre, privately run, open to the sky and cooled by ceiling fans.
It has the stalls a parent needs. Top 1 Home Made Noodle at #04-44 does mee hoon kueh from $4.50, Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Noodle Rice at #04-48 noodles at $5, Buta Kin at #04-28 ramen from $6.50 and Big Boys Western at #04-25 the cornflake chicken at $9.90. Eng Kee at #04-46 sells chicken wings at $1.60 each until 3pm, and Ye Tang chendol from $2.50 for afterwards.
Berempah Bros, opened by a MasterChef Singapore finalist, sells ayam berempah at $7.50 and is the new queue. Stall hours vary; most run 10am to 9pm and several close one weekday.
No source mentions high chairs, so assume there are none. Come at 11.30am before the lunch crowd or after 2pm.
Why kids will love it: Choosing their own stall, then watching the wok from the table. Best for ages 4 and up. A fan-cooled roof is hot at 1pm in September; bring a wet cloth.

McDonald's at #01-39/40 faces Upper Bukit Timah Road and opens at 6am, closing at 2am, which makes it the breakfast stop before a 9am Saturday taekwondo class and the only place in the mall with a high chair. It is the sole children's meal in the building. Prices are in the app rather than on a public menu page.
Why kids will love it: A Happy Meal at 8.30am, eaten in a window seat watching the buses. Best for any age. Skip 12.30pm on Saturdays, when every class on Levels 2 and 3 lets out at once.

Beauty World Centre is at 144 Upper Bukit Timah Road, with Beauty World MRT directly outside.
