The best thing at Northpoint City for a child is free, outdoors, on the roof, and missing from the mall's own website. The Level 4 rooftop of the North Wing holds a water playground with a tipping bucket, three slides, ground jets and a sheltered trough zone for toddlers, and nobody charges for it.
The Frasers family page for the mall is a heading and a hero image. The hours below come from parents who went this year, and they do not quite agree with each other. Come in the morning or after 5pm and bring a towel either way.
The building is the largest kids' mall in the north: two wings, 1.3 million square feet and 400-plus tenants on top of Yishun MRT and the bus interchange. South Wing Level 2 is the kids' floor: Kiddy Palace, Mothercare, two toy shops, an indoor playground and enrichment centres from #02-160 to #02-186. North Wing Level 3 has Timezone, Writers' Guild and the taekwondo studio; Level 4 has Yishun Public Library.
Seven of the 17 enrichment centres inside are on Jungle, which means a booking link and, in two cases, a free trial. Where a centre publishes no fee we say so rather than guess. For the rest of the town, read our guide to things to do with kids in Yishun.
Quick steer
The water playground on the roof terrace of the North Wing is the reason to choose Northpoint over every other mall in the north. It is split in two: a splash pad with ground-level jets, water shooters, a large tipping bucket and a blue tunnel slide beside yellow and red slides, and a sheltered area of ship-shaped water troughs for children too small for the bucket.
Next to it is a dry playground of woodland-themed fibreglass animals on rubber mulch, with no slides. Toilets and a communal shower area with fixed and handheld heads are on the same level.
The catch is the hours. The mall publishes none. A June 2026 parenting post lists the water as on daily from 10.30am to 2pm and 5pm to 9pm; a May 2025 post listed 10.30am to 9pm Tuesday to Sunday, closed Mondays for maintenance and whenever it rains or there is a lightning alert. Treat the two windows as the safe bet and expect the jets off on a Monday morning.
Why kids will love it: Standing under the bucket and waiting for it to tip. Best for ages 2 to 8; the trough zone suits a crawling baby with a parent in the water. Bring a change of clothes for everyone, water shoes for the slippery steps, and go up by the lifts near the library if you have a stroller.

Sunshine Childhood Playland at #02-181/182 in the South Wing is the paid indoor playground, and it is sized for the under-sixes rather than the under-twelves. Inside are a climbing frame with slides into a ball pit, a trampoline and swings, a bead-filled sensory pit with spades and buckets, a brick table, and a row of pretend-play cubby houses: a supermarket, a doctor's clinic and a kitchen, each big enough for two toddlers.
It is air-conditioned, has pram access, and shares the corridor with NK Robotics and The Little Arts Academy's second campus. It is also the lowest-rated place in this guide, at 2.8 stars from 25 reviews on Jungle, mostly about cleanliness and the age of the equipment. Go on a weekday afternoon when it is quiet.
Why kids will love it: Running the supermarket till, then the slide into the ball pit on repeat. Best for ages 1 to 5. Bring socks. A seven-year-old will be bored in 20 minutes.

Timezone at #03-30/31 in the North Wing is the arcade, one floor above the MRT concourse. It has basketball hoops, a boxing machine, rhythm and music cabinets, racing seats, a VR corner and a wall of claw machines, with redemption tickets going to a prize counter. There is no bowling and there are no bumper cars, which is the first question every eight-year-old asks. Credit loads onto a card and prices are not published online.
Why kids will love it: The claw machine they are convinced they can beat. Best for ages 6 to 12. Set a card limit before you walk in, and go on a weekday if you want a free racing seat.

The kids' retail is all on Level 2 of the South Wing, which is convenient and expensive.
Northpoint has 17 enrichment centres, more than any mall north of Ang Mo Kio: eleven on Level 2 of the South Wing, five on Level 3 of the North Wing, plus the library on Level 4. Seven are on Jungle and come first. Two offer a free trial or assessment.

Yishun Public Library on Level 4 of the North Wing. Photo: Yishun Public Library, Jungle listing
Yishun Public Library moved to #04-01 of the North Wing in February 2018 and is the top floor of the mall, reached by the lifts and escalators by the MRT concourse. The children's section is a bright, open area with low shelves, a Digital Learning Zone and virtual bookshelves where a child borrows by scanning a QR code.
Storytelling sessions run on the first and second Saturday of the month from 11.30am to noon for ages 4 to 6, and the library's event calendar carries school-holiday craft and coding workshops, most of them free with registration.
Why kids will love it: Choosing 16 books and scanning them out on the machine themselves. Best for ages 2 to 10. It is the quiet room to go to after the water playground, and the toilets are on the same floor.

The three monthly packages of four lessons are $279 for 30 minutes, $399 for 45 minutes and $519 for 60 minutes. Trials are booked online.
Why kids will love it: A drum kit of their own for half an hour, with a teacher who lets them hit it. Best for ages 5 and up who want an instrument rather than a music-and-movement class.

Why kids will love it: Building a robot from a LEGO bin and making it drive across the floor before the lesson ends. Best for ages 6 to 10. Closed Monday and Tuesday, so the trial is a Wednesday afternoon or a weekend morning.

It teaches P1 preparatory, primary and secondary English in small groups, with a curriculum that runs from grammar and cloze through to composition and oral, and it is known for its school-holiday writing workshops.
Those are the only priced thing on its website: two-day P3 to P6 workshops in September 2026 were $320 at One Punggol and Tampines and $348.80 at AMK Hub. Term fees for Northpoint are not published.

It is a Sunday school: the published timetable has a 1pm class for ages 8 and up and a 1.45pm class for ages 4 to 7, with family and adult sessions around them.
Fees are charged monthly with no deposit and no term prepayment, which is rare, but the amount is not published. The branch page has not been updated since 2019, so confirm the times by WhatsApp before you turn up.

Northpoint City has about 180 food outlets across two wings and three food courts, the most of any mall in the north. Three have a real children's offer: Seoul Garden, where under-fives eat free, Swensen's with $10.90 kids' meals, and Hai Di Lao's complimentary kids' platter.
Kopitiam at #B2-12 is the North Wing food court, one level below the MRT concourse, and the one most families end up in because it is closest to the station and the water playground lifts. It is the standard Kopitiam line-up of chicken rice, noodles, Western and drinks stalls, with open seating that takes a stroller.
The South Wing has two more: Malaysia Boleh at #B1-194/195 and #B1-203/205, which is the better food, and Bagus Food Hall by Kopitiam at #02-101 to 103, which is the quiet one on the kids' floor, next to the classes.
Why kids will love it: Choosing their own stall, and nobody minding if lunch is a plate of chicken rice with no chicken. Best for any age. Bagus on Level 2 is the one to pick between a class and the playground.
