HarbourFront Centre closed on 27 July 2026. If you are searching for the ballet school, the art studio, the chess class or the toddler playground at 1 Maritime Square, they went with it. Mapletree is knocking the 1977 building down for a 33-storey office tower with five floors of retail, reopening in the first quarter of 2031. The link bridge from VivoCity's Level 2 now leads to a hoarding.
Here is the part the closure notices do not say. VivoCity, joined to it by that bridge, has more free things for a child than any mall in this series so far.
What VivoCity lacks is classes. Since The Polliwogs' future is unclear and HarbourFront Centre's four enrichment centres are closed, the whole complex has one music school you can enrol in weekly, plus a holiday camp that meets at the front door. Parents who came here for a term of ballet or art will need to look at Telok Blangah or Tiong Bahru instead.
This guide covers every kids' reason to go, place by place, with the unit, the hours and the price. Where a venue publishes no price we say so. For the cable car, Mount Faber, Labrador and Sentosa, read our guide to things to do with kids in HarbourFront, Telok Blangah and Sentosa.
Quick steer
The Play Court is the open-air playground on Level 2, outside the Toys"R"Us end of the mall, and it has been the reason families come to VivoCity since the mall opened in 2006. The mall's own Play page lists it as open, 10am to 10pm daily, with no admission charge.
It is a proper playground rather than a soft-play corner: a central hill with a slide down the middle, recessed trampolines in three sizes, a red climbing frame with nets, hammocks and a second slide, seesaws, tunnels and spinning cocoon seats hung from the ceiling.
The catch is the water. The Play Court's fountains have been switched on and off for years. A September 2025 review on a third-party VivoCity guide said they were running again; another on the same page said they had been discontinued. Treat the fountains as a bonus, not the reason to come, and bring a change of clothes in case they are on.
Why kids will love it: Bouncing on a trampoline set into the floor, then running up the hill to slide down it again. Best for ages 2 to 8. Come before 11am or after 6pm in the dry season; the roof is open to the sky and it is hot by noon.

The Sky Park is the rooftop on Level 3, and its centrepiece is a shallow water feature the mall says is the size of four Olympic swimming pools. It is knee-deep, free, and open 10am to 10pm daily. There are no slides or sprayers; it is a wading pool with a view of Sentosa, ringed by the amphitheatre steps and a lawn, which is what makes it work for toddlers who are frightened of the fountains at Jurong Lake Gardens.
Sassy Mama's June 2026 water-play round-up lists it as open, and our own September 2026 HarbourFront guide checked it. The mall's Play page, oddly, no longer mentions it, so if it matters to your plans, call 6377 6870 before you drive in.
There is no shade over the water and no changing room on the roof. The nearest toilets and the Level 3 Lobby H nursing room are inside by the Food Republic entrance.
Why kids will love it: Wading out until the water reaches their knees while the Sentosa Express glides past overhead. Best for ages 1 to 6. Bring swim nappies, a towel and a hat, and do it before 10.30am or after 5pm; the concrete is scorching by lunch.

ZooMoov Safari rides at the Level 2 Play Court. Photo: Zoomoov, Jungle listing
ZooMoov runs the kiddy rides at the Play Court on Level 2: motorised animals a child sits on and steers around a marked circuit, safari-themed, with a sheltered pen beside the playground. It is the paid half of the Play Court and the thing every parent ends up buying after twenty minutes of "please".
The mall lists it as a Kids Club participating store, so there is a member offer at the counter; what it is, and the pass price itself, are not published online.
Why kids will love it: Driving a lion at walking pace while a parent trots behind. Best for ages 2 to 6, and a reliable bribe after the trampolines. Weekday afternoons are quietest.

The Polliwogs at #03-12, beside Marché, has been VivoCity's indoor playground since 2014: a climbing structure with slides and a ball pit, a Poco toddler zone for under-threes, and a café for parents. Sessions are two hours, starting at 9.30am, 11.45am, 2pm and 4.15pm, with a 6.30pm slot on Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays. Published prices start at $12, and the weekend rate quoted on booking sites in 2025 was $23 a child and $12 an accompanying adult.
We could not confirm it is still open. The mall's own store directory, updated on 28 September 2026, does not list it. The Polliwogs' website was unreachable on the day we checked, and its Jungle listing is still live. Call the branch before you promise a child a ball pit.
Why kids will love it: Two hours in a ball pit while it rains outside, with the toddler zone keeping the under-threes away from the big slide. Best for ages 1 to 6. Book online for the 9.30am slot; the mall is empty then.

Price: From $12. Weekend rate $23 a child, $12 an adult in 2025.
Ages: 0 to 12.

library@harbourfront at #03-05, Lobby F, is the largest public library inside a Singapore mall: 200,000 volumes, a Sentosa view, and a Children's Zone with a makerspace for ages three to nine and augmented-reality picture books. It opens 11am to 9pm every day except public holidays, has a 24-hour book drop, and costs nothing. It is the one place in the complex that works for a nine-year-old, a toddler and a parent at the same time.
Why kids will love it: Pointing a tablet at a picture book and watching the dinosaur climb out of it. Best for ages 3 to 10. The 11am opening means it pairs with a 9.30am playground hour, not the other way round.

Sunshine Childhood Playland was the budget indoor playground on Level 2 of HarbourFront Centre, #02-53/54/55, with cubby houses, a climbing frame into a ball pit and a bead-filled sensory pit, priced from $12 an hour with a charge for every minute over. It closed with the building on 27 July 2026. Nothing has replaced it, and the redevelopment is not due to finish until 2031. Its Jungle listing predates the closure.
Why kids will love it: They will not, because it is gone. For an hour of soft play under $15 nearby, the closest options are in the Tiong Bahru and Telok Blangah guides. Best for nobody until 2031.

The rest of the kids' floor at VivoCity is on Level 2 and does not need numbered entries. Toys"R"Us at #02-183 is the chain's 23,000 square foot Asia flagship, with the largest LEGO section in Southeast Asia and a Bandai store inside; it is where the afternoon ends. Timezone at #02-43 is the arcade chain's first Singapore flagship, with bumper cars and mini bowling.
Smiggle at #02-17, Cotton On Kids at #02-88 and FILA Kids at #02-90 cover stationery and clothes, and LA Cowboy Kids at #02-162 is a children's barber. Golden Village at #02-30 is the largest cinema complex in the country. The VivoCity Kids Club is free for ages 3 to 12, signed up in the VivoRewards app, and it is the key to the dining deals below.
This is the short section. HarbourFront Centre's closure took ARTARY, Chess at Three, My English School and The Ballet School Singapore off the map at once. VivoCity itself has one weekly enrichment centre and one holiday camp. Both are on Jungle, and one offers a free trial.
The Ballet School is opening a replacement at CanningHill Square in December 2026, and Chess at Three's nearest class is now on Alexandra Road.

Photo: Aureus Academy, Jungle listing
Aureus Academy has two units on Level 2, #02-31/33 opposite Golden Village and #02-100/106 near PUTIEN, which makes it the largest music school on the south coast by default. Lessons are one-to-one in piano, drums, guitar, violin and voice, with a Musical Adventure group class for the youngest.
Aureus publishes its prices, which almost nobody in this series does: four lessons a month at $279 for 30 minutes, $399 for 45 minutes and $519 for 60 minutes. The mall's directory entry says the trial is free.
Why kids will love it: A real drum kit in a soundproof room and a certificate at the end of every grade. Best for ages 5 and up who want an instrument rather than a music-and-movement class. Book the trial online and ask for a slot before a Play Court hour, not after.

Outdoor School Singapore, the NTUC First Campus outdoor-education arm, uses VivoCity's Level 1 main entrance as the meeting point for Brave Squad: Land, Air, Sea, a three-day holiday camp for ages 9 to 12. Day one is bunkers and trails, day two is a high-ropes course, day three is sailing and wingfoiling at East Coast Park.
The camp runs 23 to 25 November and 7 to 9 December 2026 and costs $490.50 after GST. A child must be 9, at least 120cm and 30kg, or they sit out the ropes.
Why kids will love it: Three days of things a school would never let them do, ending with a fire they light themselves. Best for ages 9 to 12 who have outgrown every mall playground in this guide. Book a month ahead; the instructor ratio is 1 to 10.

If your child needs a weekly class, most centres in the south now offer a first lesson free; our guide to free trial classes for kids in Singapore lists them. Browse VivoCity classes on Jungle.
VivoCity has more real children's offers than any mall we have covered, and almost all hang on the free Kids Club eCard. Seven restaurants give members a free or half-price kids' meal in 2026; PUTIEN and Paris Baguette need no card. Sign up in the app before you sit down.
Food Republic at #03-01 is the Level 3 food court: more than 30 stalls and mini restaurants across 27,000 square feet, done up as 1900s Singapore with weathered tiles and a sedan chair. It sits beside the Sentosa Express station and the library, and it has the trays, the high chairs and the volume for a family that cannot agree.
In September 2026 the Anjappar stall ran a free kids' meal with two mains at weekends, which tells you the operator courts families. Kopitiam Food Hall at #B2-40 is the cheaper, plainer second food court.
Why kids will love it: Choosing their own stall, then eating chicken rice while watching the monorail leave for Sentosa. Best for any age. Avoid 12.30pm to 1.30pm on weekends.

COLLIN'S at #01-52A on the waterfront is the Western grill chain, and in 2026 its VivoCity branch gives Kids Club members a free kids' meal with a minimum spend of $50, one per table per bill. Little Day Out's August 2026 list quotes the chain-wide deal at $30, so ask which applies on the day. Weekday lunch, 11am to 3pm, is buy-one-free-one on mains until 31 December 2026, which does not stack with the kids' offer.

PUTIEN at #02-131/132 is the Fujian restaurant chain, and its rule is the simplest in the mall: a child small enough for a high chair eats free. It is not printed on the menu. Staff bring a child-friendly dish for the baby or toddler and do not charge for it, according to Little Day Out's August 2026 kids-eat-free list, which names VivoCity among the outlets.
Why kids will love it: A bowl of their own, brought without asking. Best for ages 1 to 4, while they still fit the chair.

It is the breakfast answer if you arrive at 9am for the playground and the mall is not yet open upstairs.

VivoCity has no Swensen's à la carte, no Pizza Hut and no Toast Box on the store directory as of 28 September 2026, whatever older guides say. HarbourFront Centre's McDonald's, KFC, Pizza Hut and Song Fa Bak Kut Teh closed with the building.
VivoCity is at 1 HarbourFront Walk, on the waterfront facing Sentosa, with the MRT and bus interchange built into it.
