Ask a Jurong East parent about Westgate and they will tell you about the rooftop playground. It closed on 17 February 2026. CapitaLand's notice says only to "stay tuned", with no reopening date, so if you are driving in for the tree house and the water play, do not.
Here is the odd part. Westgate with kids is better in 2026 than it was in 2025. Yooland, the indoor playground on Level 3, reopened on 9 September 2026 after a full rebuild, with a go-kart circuit and a three-lane rainbow slide.
Level 4 has quietly become the kids' floor: art, robotics, gym, ballet, hip hop, music and writing centres within a hundred metres of each other, plus Kiddy Palace, a kids' shower room and a nursing room. And a free netted playground sits one sheltered walkway away on Level 5 of Jem.
This guide covers all of it, place by place, with the unit number, the hours and the price. Where a centre publishes no fee we say so rather than guess. If you are planning a whole day in the west, pair it with our guide to things to do with kids in Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang.

Yooland is the reason to come. The space-themed indoor playground at #03-36/37 shut for renovation in mid 2026 and reopened on Wednesday 9 September 2026 with nine zones across roughly 6,000 square feet.
The headline pieces are a go-kart circuit, a three-lane LED rainbow slide, a giant sand play area, the Yooland Donut climbing structure with a tunnel slide, a rainbow net galaxy, a trampoline and ninja zone, and a mini supermarket for pretend play. There is a birthday house and a party room at the back.
It is built for ages 1 to 8. A nine-year-old will find it small. Socks are compulsory and sold at the counter for $3 a pair, so bring your own.
Why kids will love it: They can drive a go-kart round a proper circuit, race a sibling down the rainbow slide, then fill a trolley in the mini supermarket and "pay" at the till. Toddlers stay in the sand and the nets. Weekday mornings after 11am are near-empty. Buy the two-hour ticket, because nobody leaves after one.

Westgate Wonderland was the free 11,000 square foot rooftop playground on Level 4: a 10-metre tree house with climbing nets and a winding slide, a giant flower pot with tunnels, a rock wall, a toddler zone for ages 2 to 5 and a water play area with a giant watering can. It opened with the mall in February 2014, closed in the pandemic, reopened in September 2022 and was showing its age by 2025.
CapitaLand closed it on 17 February 2026. As of 29 September 2026 the mall's concierge page still says only that something is "coming up next". Several parenting sites still list it as open. It is not.
Why kids will love it: Nothing to love yet. We are keeping this entry so you do not make the trip for it, and we will update it the day CapitaLand announces a replacement. Until then the nearest free playground is Jem Play, two minutes away by the link bridge.

Jem Play is the free indoor playground on Level 5 of Jem, the mall on the other side of Gateway Drive, reached without going outside via the J-Walk bridge. It was rebuilt as a netted honeycomb playground in 2018: hexagonal climbing nets, a netted bridge, triangular rubber hammocks, hexagonal trampolines set into the floor and a short crawl tunnel.
Play panels along the food court's glass wall keep toddlers busy while older children climb. Jem's rooftop garden one floor up has water play, but check the signs on arrival, because sections have closed for maintenance before.
Why kids will love it: Bouncing on a floor-level trampoline then scrambling up a net to look down on the food court. Best for ages 3 to 9. It is fully indoors and air-conditioned, so it is the rainy day fallback for the whole of Jurong East. Weekend afternoons are crowded, so go before lunch.

Two smaller family favourites do not need an entry of their own. Kiddy Palace at #04-23 (10.30am to 9.30pm) is the place for the forgotten swim nappy or a birthday present. The Smiley World train ride runs on Level 1 near Shake Shack, and Zoomoov's animal rides are on Level 4.
Ten enrichment centres operate inside Westgate, eight of them on Level 4. A parent can drop one child at ballet and take the other to robotics without leaving the floor. Every centre below is listed on Jungle, and every one offers a trial, four of them free.

Photo: My Gym, Jungle listing
My Gym at #04-39 is the American children's gym franchise, running structured gym and play classes for babies from 7 months up to 8 years. The bands are Young Waddlers (7 to 11 months), Waddlers (12 to 18 months), Gymsters (19 months to 3 years), Terrific Tots (3 to 4), Mighty Mites (4 to 5) and Whiz Kids (5 to 8).
Classes mix gymnastics apparatus, songs, games and free play on the equipment. It is a one-minute walk from Exit D.
Why kids will love it: Swinging on the rings, walking the beam and being caught by a coach at the end of the zip line. Waddlers get a whole hour of safe climbing that a living room cannot offer. Best for under-fives who need to move.

Photo: NK Robotics, Jungle listing

Tech Explorers (7 to 8) moves to building and programming LEGO-style robots, and older children go on to competition robotics and text-based code. The nursing room and the kids' shower room are next door, which matters if you have a younger sibling in tow.
Why kids will love it: Their robot moves because of something they told it to do. Six-year-olds get a real robot to drive on the first day. Best for children who ask how things work.

There are also Creative Brain Labs and school holiday programmes. The trial is currently free, usually $53.50.
Why kids will love it: A 75-minute class for a three-year-old sounds long until you see them still painting at the end. Best for children who are ready for a structured art syllabus rather than free craft.

Why kids will love it: Learning the chorus choreography to a song they already know, then filming it. Best for ages 7 to 14 who would rather dance to Blackpink than Tchaikovsky.

Westgate has about 80 food outlets and no Swensen's, no McDonald's and no KFC. What it has is better: two restaurants where children eat free and three with a printed kids' menu, most on the same floors as Yooland and the classes. The five entries below have a real children's offer. The rest follows.
Food Junction at #B1-29 is the food court, open 10.30am to 10pm with more than 20 stalls. It has the widest choice for a fussy eater in the building, from chicken rice to Japanese sets, and the open seating takes a stroller. Sushi Express (#B1-26, plates from $1.50) and Chateraise (#B1-24) are on the same corridor. It is loud at 12.30pm on a Saturday and empty at 11.15am.
Why kids will love it: Choosing their own stall, and the fact that nobody minds if lunch is a plate of fried carrot cake. Best for any age. Sit early or sit late.

PUTIEN at #03-08 is the Michelin-listed Heng Hwa restaurant, and it is on the same floor as Yooland. Its standing family deal is the best in the mall: any child small enough to sit in a high chair eats free, with a complimentary plate of fried rice, sweet and sour pork and fruit. The food is mild, the bee hoon is soft enough for a two-year-old, and the pace is quick.
Why kids will love it: Their own plate of sweet and sour pork that arrives before yours. Best for ages 1 to 4, which is exactly the age that fits the high chair. Weekday lunch is quiet, and the kitchen closes between 3pm and 5pm Monday to Thursday.

Adult mains are $15 to $18 before the 10 per cent service charge. Note that COLLIN'S runs a kids-eat-free promotion at some outlets, and Westgate is not one of them.

The kids' menu is two dishes at $9.50: tomato pasta or creamy pasta, each with chicken fingers, carrots and corn. Adult mains run $18.90 to $28.50 plus service, so it is the priciest of the five, but the pancakes are the reward that gets a child through a haircut at the salon next door.
